Poco Bueno 2011

The Annual Poco Bueno fishing tournament rolled around again and Ryan left for 5 days! He left slightly earlier this year as he needed to run down to Corpus to take care of some things, and then turn and head to Port O'Connor for the tourney.

This year the Brocks have a new boat! It is so beautiful and perfect! They traded in the good ole' Fountain and in turn got a larger Venture. The previous weekend they fished the Deep Sea Roundup in Port Aransas and did excellent, they took 1st place in Sailfish division. There were high hopes for Poco this year!

Unfortunately they had some slight issues. A couple of the boys ran the boat up to POC and noticed a knocking in the motor. Ryan headed up to POC immediately to meet them and take a look at what was going on. Good thing my hubby is such a great marine mechanic! They were fortunate enough to get another lower unit sent up and Ryan spent most of Thursday putting the new unit on and fixing everything up for them to be able to leave Thursday night.

Saturday night, 7:30ish I finally got a call from the hubs! I knew they didn't do too hot because he called so late, had they had a fish.....they would've been in much earlier! Its OK, they did what they could and had a great time out there together. Only 1 boat weighed in a blue marlin at the last minute. I guess it wasn't a good year for many.

I'm sure they had a great time and made many more amazing memories, even with the motor issues.

The new Marlin Majic

Here is the Marlin Majic crew last year at Poco Bueno (2010). This fish would've won, but with all the controversy going on, they left without a win. Nice fish.

Leading the board....for awhile at least

  1. Danielle, thanks for posting, I didn't have any
pictures. No win, but I am sure they had a good time. Thanks to Ryan for his mechinal know how, I know they were all grateful. Maybe next year!
