Our new home

When we first moved here, August 2nd - we rented a house across the street from my mom. We signed a year lease. We liked the house and is pretty much the biggest one we lived in. We were content. However - the backyard is dirt and the tiniest ever! Knowing we were tired of renting - we knew time had come to finally purchase a house. We looked online just browsing for months - seeing what was out there, prices, designs, new to old homes, etc. This house hunt was not easy as we both had things we wanted. We really turned up the search at the end of May. Got a realtor - called the mortgage people - and went full blast looking at houses. None of them satisfied us, and the ones that did - had no yard.
We could've gotten a brand new house and designed it all ourselves - but with tiny yards. Our rule was that Bridgers slide had to fit...and we have 2 big dogs. Ryan has 5 boats, an old corvette - 2 trucks and my car. Lots of stuff.
We finally looked at one that was a 2 story with a good sized back yard. It was managable. It wasn't what I wanted exactly but I knew I would have to make sacrifices. Plus it was way under our limit! We decided to make a second appointment and bring my mom along. While we waited for the lady to call back our realtor to set up a time, another house across the street came on the real estate website. I had seen it for sale by owner before but never looked twice as I thought it looked like a box to me. It wasn't what I had envisioned. Once I saw it online on the real estate website and got a look at it, I told Ryan we HAD to look at it. Made an appt that day I believe and took my mom to look! We liked it immediately! A lot of it was updated and it was just so much nicer all the way around, you could tell the sellers really took care of their home. We made an offer that day, the very first day it went on the real estate market.
So here we are - weeks later and we closed on July 13th. Friday the 13th. It was perfect. I painted some last weekend when Ryan way away at POCO and we are finishing up the last things this weekend! We are excited and ready to go into this next chapter of our lives.
There are of course things we want to update and change and make into our own - in all due time. But it has 4 bedrooms, a big backyard, and not alot of remodeling to do!! Score!
Pictures to come soon!

Daddy's new shop

While we lived in Beaumont we always had a yard and a place to store all of Ryans boats and boy stuff. The rent house that we got here has absolutely NO yard at all, not even big enough for our big ol fur babies. Since moving here, the boats and his extra stuff have been hanging out at his moms and his grandmas house.

We have been out shopping lately - and closed on a house! (another post!). It has a big back yard but no place to store boats, land isn't as cheap here as it was in Beaumont. Ryans grandma is also planning on moving to San Antonio and selling the house - soooo the boats have to go somewhere.

After much stress and figuring things out, Ryan and one of his friends went in together on a shop. They are doing boats on the side, which they love to do for fun. And he has a place to store all of his stuff!! Wala! Perfect!

They have already been working on a boat and Bridger just LOVES going over there and playing!!! What a boy!

This baby and his blanket, he loves it!!!

Pretty weather lately.....

We have gotten some great weather lately!! Well this past week was nothing but clouds, which was nice because it cooled it down. Before this week though, the weather was great! It was sunny and calm, not too windy. I love being outside when the weather is perfect!!

Birthday Party

Ryans mom threw her boyfriend a party for his birthday! We weren't going to go and didn't line up a babysitter, but we stopped by to clean up Bridgers leg from falling at the shop. Our sister n law was also in town - so it was nice to stop and visit for awhile. We stayed for a couple or a few hours, and Bridger had a blast playing.

He slept in till 11 am the next morning! That never happens!!!

My sweetest love of all

This little boy has my heart! I want time to slow down, this is going entirely too fast.

Found this in the washer after doing a load of Bridger clothes. ha. better watch this boy!

He keeps breaking out around his mouth and nose, I dont know why. Poor thing

77th Annual Deep Sea Roundup

This is Ryan's favorite time of year. Summer means fishing and tournaments. He isn't an avid tournament fisherman - but he does go sometimes and he loves to go to the weigh ins. The Deep Sea Roundup is right here in Port Aransas so we always try to go see the big fish they bring in. We have some friends that fish it every year and it is just fun!

We loaded up and headed out, we watched some boats come in and bring in ok sized fish. It was a beautiful day but kind of too hot if you stood out in the sun for too long. Bridger did amazing in the stroller the entire time! We went for a walk, looked around at the small vendors that were there and walked out onto the pier by the jetties. We watched the boats coming in from offshore for awhile. Bridger of course loved seeing all those boats and it had a great breeze. Once our friends got in, we went and talked to them for awhile.

Ryans mom was also out there and left to go eat dinner. Once they were finished we met up with her and she took Bridger home with her so we could stay and eat some dinner with some friends. I always hate leaving Bridger, especially when he isn't in bed yet. I know it is good for him to spend time with his grandma's and family but I always want to be there and feel like I should.
We went to dinner at a new place that Ryan and I have never tried. I think it was called the Port Aransas Brewing Company. The wait was forever long, but we had a good time just laughing and talking. Afterwards all our friends were going out so we decided to stop by a few places with them. Some were extremely packed! It was ridiculous! After 3 different stops in Port A we decided to head back to town and met some friends at a bar. It was a nice little night out for us. We enjoyed spending time together and with eachother. The next morning we were in a rush to go get our sweet little Bridger!

4th of July

This year for the 4th of July we were stumped on what we should go do! ha! That doesn't usually happen. I think we are just mentally exhausted from other things going on, it felt good to stay home! We hung around the house for awhile and went and visited with our sister-n-law that came into town. We decided that we should go check out the fireworks! We haven't ever been and thought it would be so fun to take Bridger. Ryans cousin has his boat parked near where the fireworks were in Port Aransas and it worked out perfect. They have a little one- I believe is 5? So Bridger and he played and played and played. Bridger didn't have much of a nap that day, but he did surprisingly well.

We went early to make sure we missed the traffic. So they had lots of time to play. Fireworks FINALLY started around 9:30, passed all of our bedtimes. ha. By this time Bridger was definitely wore out and slowing down. During the whole firework show he sat on his Memaws lap, a few times his eyes shut for a second. I think they scared him along with the mixture of being tired, because he didn't move at all during the whole show. It lasted till 10.The Finale was awesome! I don't ever remember fireworks having a finale like that! It was pretty cool.

Traffic was of course horrible. We waited in the car for an hour before we even moved! We got home after midnight that night.....we were pretty tired the next day.

Also on Monday we had a company picnic at work during our lunch hour in our portland office. It was a nice little break.
