1st trip to the ski canals!

We took Bridger to the ski canals for the first time today ...umm.....yesterday??....ok... Friday...haha. I think he really loved it and enjoyed it!! I know this is something he will love in the years to come, just like his daddy!

He didn't really like the life jacket....it smashed his little face and it was adorable!! He was so snug in his life jacket with his chubby little cheeks.

He loved floating but with every movement, and with the life jacket being so far up on his face it kept making his plugs fall out...not good. No plugs- No water.

He kept trying to taste the water....definitely not good.....but so funny. He kept dipping his thumb in the water and than sucking it off......Silly boy. Too salty!!

He has been a daddys boy lately!! Not sure too how that happened.. =) ....however...still so sweet!

He spent some time with Memaw....

He also tried to eat some sand.....

Aunt Katelynn and her friends were there too!!

They went tubbin' and daddy even joined in! He kept trying to get the girls off...but in the end...it was he who fell off!

Over all it was a good trip. We didn't stay too long, and were very fearful of the sun and our light skinned baby! We kept lots of sunscreen on him and tried to shade him as much as possible. The boat ride over he did ok....he doesn't like the life jacket, but loves the sound of the motor...he probably could have fallen asleep.

I think he might still be just a tad too little....once he is a "good" walker...I think the fun will really begin for him...and us. But for a couple hours a day... it was pure joy for this little boy.



Getting ready.....

We have been busy getting things ready for our vacation and Bridgers stay with each of his grandmothers.

We will be spending Easter in Corpus and then we will have to leave Bridger there while we leave to Houston and jet set off to Antigua... We are very ready and very excited for our trip. I am going to miss Bridger so much and I'm not sure how I am going to feel being away from him all week. Some say to me that I will love it and soak up the time, and others say its easy the first few days then it gets hard. I just know I haven't been 1 day away from him since he was born and I am going to miss him so much!!

I haven't gotton to take alot of pictures lately because we have been running around and trying to get things in order....so here are some from the past....He is SO cute!!! I just love him so much!!

Afternoon sunshine

This weekend was absolutely beautiful! Its been a long time since we have had a nice weekend.....even though it was so nice out - we didn't go do anything like we originally planned. There were a couple different things we would've liked to do, but time got away from us and I have been busy getting things ready for our trip and Bridgers stay with his grandmas.

We hung outside as a family and enjoyed our days.

Bridger's hair is getting so long! And it is still growing more in some areas than others.....its so cute. I decided to see if I could try to comb it sideways since it always only goes forward......

haha, I think he looks so silly! Maybe I am used to seeing him one way. He looks like a little boy. I think I like it forward! =) Then he got annoyed with me  taking pictures of him....and I got this.....

He is so funny! We have so much fun with him. And he loves being outside with us just as much!!We are soaking up our time with him this week!!!! We are gonna miss him so much when we leave!

So I finally went and got Bridger's Easter basket embroidered. I really like it! I wish the colors were more "boy like" but I think its cute. I was impressed with the price for the embroidery and can't wait to go get a couple of other things embroidered. Now we are set to go for Bridger's first Easter!

I did a little shopping today in hopes of getting some "nice" dresses for the trip. No success. But I did however get Bridger some cute items (of course) and some cute items for some friends of ours that are expecting! Little girls are SO much fun to buy for. 

Bridgers walking is getting better and better! It won't be too long!

His current cuteness is that he loves to laugh now! Over everything. He is constantly smiling and we get laughs from him all the time. I can see him being a fun little guy - a jokester maybe.....a teaser. Which wouldn't be far off from his daddy! He is breaking in another tooth - the top front tooth! Finally he will have the front four! (2top,2bottom). That is probably why he was holding a fever for a few days. It even looks like it could be front teeth with a little gap! haha. aww how cute. We shall wait and see!!

Also today - We got the great news that Katelynn made Varsity Cheerleader again! Way to go Katelynn! We didn't expect anything less, and knew she could do it! We are so proud of her and I can't believe that she is going to be a junior! Where has the time gone?! This year we were only able to make it to one of her games, hopefully next year, with Bridger being older - we can make it to many more.

We had our neighbors over tonight and cooked up some ribs. They haven't lived next door for too long and we have been getting to know them. They have a 16 month old little boy, Greer. He is so cute and I can't wait for Bridger to get a little bigger to play with him. Bridger basically took over the room and was the "entertainer". I'm sure with a few play dates, that they will become great friends.

 Unfortunately we feel horrible for them - he lost his job this week and is looking for work. Ryan is hoping there is someone he knows that can help our neighbors out. As you see- she is expecting. She is a stay at home mom for now and they fully rely on him. We will be praying for something to come along for him and the family. They really need it.

The boys did so good for as tired as they both were. Bridger had a late late nap so I knew he would be up  longer than usual. I think he finally made it to bed at 9pm-ish......I sure hope he sleep a little later since he got the late nap and played a ton!! I'm not sure it works that way - but it sure would be nice!!! =) 

Walking more!!

Bridger is walking even more!!! When I picked him up from daycare today they were asking me if he walks at home - I said, well some steps, but that's it. OH no - he is walking at daycare! More than 4 steps....its so funny how all the other babies are standing but not walking and here Bridger is walking and not able to stand on his own longer than a few seconds. He is busy and on the go.

Tonight Ryan and I were playing with him and got him to walk!! I'm excited for him! He prefers to crawl since he can get there much quicker.....but he can very much walk!

I forgot to say that the other day when I picked him up from daycare I was talking while holding him and he bit me!! He wasn't "trying" to bite me, but he sure did and it hurt with his only 3 teefers!! He does this to his lovie or blanket when he is tired, but I guess that is what I was being used as! he is such a silly little boy!

I also got Bridgers 1st birthday party supplies ordered and I'm excited to get them in! We aren't going all out how some people do, which is super cute - but I lack creativity and that has a lot to do with it. I will have to pick up some other things for the party and we need to go see who can make the smash cake that I want. I also got his little outfit ordered and am waiting on that as well. Feels great to get some things marked off the list!

They are so much alike!

New Computer!

So here I am typing on my new laptop! We purchased a new laptop because my other one just quit working! It wouldn't start windows and I called Toshiba direct and they said it was my hard drive.After taking it into our local computer store they told me its the same thing. Turns out it isn't a virus after all like I orginally thought and the hard drive basically quit working. I'm not sure if they can retrieve all of the information but they seemed to think it was managable. Just a new hard drive and retrieving files, etc. We are going to take it to Ryans cousin who is wonderful with working with computers. I hope he can save our stuff because I have ALL of Bridgers videos on it! I loved my old lap top, but this one is wonderful too!!

When Bridger woke up this morning I noticed 3 little bumps on the side of his head - no surprise....mesquito bites. Thought nothing of it and took him to daycare and started our day. When I picked up him tough, they were much bigger and really red. I'm not sure if they were just really bothered or if he has some kind of reaction to them, but we tried our hardest not to touch them in fear of making them itch like crazy!

Also when I woke him up this morning, he was so cute I had to run to get my camera. His little arm was over his face like he used to do as a newborn and the other was so comfortably placed behind his head. He sure is a cutie!

And he always wakes up in the best moods!! The biggest smile and lots of talking. Here is just a little smirk...those are just as wonderful too!

We have had some more snuggle times. I try to get in as many as I possibly can, but they are few and far between. They do however, seem to be getting more frequently. I eat up every moment with him and love them all!!

Our dear sweet friends, The Pirons, 2 year old daughter had to have surgery today. She has been having so many problems for so long with getting sick, high fevers, etc. Finally they were able to get a referral to have her tonsils removed! Normally you have to wait till you are 3, but hers were so bad, they gave the green light. Which was a complete blessing. We got to go up and see her today and she is doing wonderfully! Hopefully she will be released from the hospital tomorrow. We are still praying she continues to do so well.

We are trying to get things wrapped up for our upcoming trip. So many last minute details and things to get. I had to make a list. I am such a list maker anyway - I'm hoping this helps and I quit forgetting things!! Not only are we packing for our trip and Bridgers stay, but also for Easter and 2 weekends in Corpus. We will get it all done!

Bridger is so not a cuddler!! It is very few and far between! I still can't help but steal kisses, hugs and anything else I can from him.

He is learning so much. Now I give him kisses and he "kisses back" It is more like his mouth is wide open and slobbery...but it is so cute!!! And if his mouth isn't wide open, he makes sure he gets it that way before the kiss!! He is so funny!

Ryan's Uncle Steve

Unfortunately we got the news of Steve's passing last Saturday, April 2nd after years of battling several different types of cancer.

We headed to Corpus Thursday night after Ryan got off work for the funeral the next morning.

Without going into too many details, the service was beautiful. There were many beautiful photos displayed thru out a slide show, beautiful songs and amazing words spoken.

I know Ryan will miss his Uncle, but I think all the cousins find comfort knowing their dads are all back together doing what they love. They have each other.

After the service we headed to his Aunt Twinkles with everyone and just sat and chatted! We were suppose to head back to Beaumont right after because Ryan had to work this entire weekend, but we couldn't get a part that he needed before heading back. We ended up staying and went and had dinner with some of the family. It was a long day and thank goodness for Grandma and Memaw! They both helped out with Bridger. It was nice to be able to hang out with everyone and know Bridger is ok, hanging with one of his Grandmas. He didn't get the naps he needed - but he was a trooper! I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. He was exhausted!! He played a lot and had lots of cousins and 2nd cousins to watch!
