2011 work retreat

So I just started at Swantner and Gordon a few weeks ago and got lucky timing and was able to attend the 2011 Higginbotham Retreat in Port Aransas held at Cinnamon Shore. Higginbotham and Swantner merged in 2009. They are growing and merging with more companies in hopes to become one of the largest agencies in the nation.

This retreat is something they do every year and this was the 1st year that we were able to attend. People from all the agencies that are part of Higginbotham joined and was broken into 2 separate days. We had a guest speaker, Susan huston and she was great. It was all about basically etiquette and dressing correctly and how you present yourself. We were able to mingle and meet other people from the different agencies. They provided lunch afterwards and than it was a "free" day. A few of us went into Port A and did some shopping, than came back and hung by the pool....which was an amazing infinity pool. Pictures do no do it justice.

They had coolers full of alcohol and it was seriously just play time for us all. Some went to the beach, some went to the pool, while others shopped or left for the day. They asked us to stay till 5, so I did. Meeting new people and just enjoying the island life.

I will definitely be looking forward to this next year....if they do it again.

A lot of the people coming in were from out of town and they call stayed on the property. The main house was amazing....they way they were all decorated and set up. I LOVED!!! Basically Pottery Barn sytle...maybe it was Pottery Barn. It was beautiful and definitely made me want to rent one for the weekend with friends and family. Here are some pictures of the main house they rented and we hung out at...It was very big, so these are just really a few pics of the house.

Here is one of the bedrooms that I LOVE!!!

And the kitchen....

and of course the boardwalk

Overall, it was a great time!!! I really enjoyin and meeting more people....learning about the compay, which by the way- I learned, with all the agencies they merged with....we at over 500 employees! Wowsers! Pretty awesome! We all had a great time!
