Weekend

Since this is such a busy month for us, we decided that we would try to keep it low key this past weekend. Ryan wanted to finish a couple of boats that he was working on and I had to get things ready for our upcoming trip, and get the house cleaned. Our intentions are always good at staying home, but I think we are allergic. Except for Bridger, he is a home body like crazy! He always wants to be home.

Friday Ryan worked at the shop. His friend called him to go fishing so a few of them did that. Bridger and I went by and saw him for a bit and then went to Target. We took our time walking around, while the entire time he is telling me, "I want to go home, Mom". I kept telling him I would buy him a toy if he would be good and let me hurry and finish. Bad - I know. I had to get cards. Lots of them. We have TONS of May birthdays and May events. It took me awhile. While I was browsing thru cards, Bridger was playing with my phone, at one point a couple walked by and were talking- Bridger started mocking them. Ohmygosh! ha! The lady next to me chuckled, thank goodness. We were finished - but not before we went to the toy section and got him some more legos. His favorite. I got on my phone for something, and I found these gems, just a few out of a ton! Bridger was taking selfies while shopping at Target! haha! I was laughing so hard. My baby cracks me up. Who taught him this!?!

I went home and cleaned. I finally got my shoe room cleaned. It rarely ever looks like this.

I started picking up Ryans thousands of clothes. Somewhere in the last few months he started piling his clothes everywhere! I mean everywhere! He changes 5 times a day and has so much laundry, he usually does it himself. However- he never puts it away! Men. So - I was being a nice wifey and folding his laundry and putting it away (LOL) and I have boxes and boxes of frames sitting next me. I decided it was finally time to put them up on the wall up the stairs like I have been wanting to do forever. I didn't think I could do it by myself, but I was tired of waiting for Ryan. So I started - and this turned into a whole night adventure. I was almost done, standing on the chair at the landing and I lost my balance. Down I went. I was watching myself fall. It wasn't a quick - oh it caught me by surprise. No it was a slow motion fall like they show on TV or something. I knew I was going down. It was a bar height chair and a small area. My shoulder and head hit the wall. I sat there for a bit. My foot was throbbing and my hand was killing me. Ryan walked in right after. He had to help me up - I was like please don't let anything hurt badly - I'm going on vacay!!!! This was 2am. I think that was my sign to be done. It turned out great though, or I think. I like it for now - I'm sure my mind will change again sooner rather than later.

I woke up Saturday morning to a badly bruised foot, thigh and palm of my hand that was also swollen. By Saturday night my entire arm was killing me where I couldn't even us it. It just felt really badly bruised. You couldn't see one, but it hurt like hell. I'm slowly recouping - however I was unable to do the floor exercises this morning during Insanity. Hopefully it won't last too long.

Saturday was fore casted to rain. But it was beautiful! We ran errands, attempted my list to do of things, left the house again, did my list again. I did get some stuff done though! I went shopping by myself and daddy and Bridger hung out and blew some bubbles. They are so sweet.

Mothers Day 2013

I am so happy to be a mom. It is truly an amazing feeling that isn't describable to anybody, you only realize how amazing it is, once you become a mother. You can dream about it, fantasize how it will be, but reality - being a mother is just so amazing beyond words.

My mothers day was low key and we just hung out. We got up and went to church. Bridger colored me a cute card that I didn't get a picture of because he was taking it apart before we even got to the house. He also made me a cute foam art from daycare. He was so excited to give it to me. We drove Ryan out to the shop to do some work and pick up his truck. On the way, Bridger said- "Happy Mothers Day Mom" out of the blue. It was so so sweet. Just melted my heart. I didn't teach him that, he must have learned it in church that morning and just remembered. He then told Ryan, "Happy Mothers Day Daddy" haha. Ummm, not quite buddy. He is so sweet.

Church was a great service with the Pastor and his wife on stage this time. She thought that she would be able to say so much more than Pastor Bil, which is probably true. ha. She spoke of us Moms always trying to do to much, and to always remember to keep ourselves happy and our tank full as well, because we all tend to forget to do that. She had a lot to say and it was fun listening to her and her points and her own stories of her children. Again, we all are so blessed and happy to be a mother.

The day was nasty and rainy all day. We ran a few errands and stayed home. My mom came over for a little while. Bridger was so excited to see her. He immediately told her to sit down and play with him. I have been terrible about making him nap lately because he usually is pretty good, and I don't really want to fight with him. However - Sunday, he was a hott mess. Saying things he shouldn't and being out of control. He makes me laugh, but I swear his naughtiness was times 1000 yesterday. After my mom left we headed out to run another couple of errands. He fell asleep and caught about an hour nap. It was well needed.

I am so very thankful for my mom and my mother-n-law. They both do so much for us and help us when we need or ask. Bridger loves them both to pieces and I am so glad that we are home in Corpus again and so near.

I love my little man so much and I feel so blessed every single day to have him as my son. He likes to test me and my patience and push us as far as he can, but god picked him out especially for us and knew exactly what we needed. We may think he is difficult now and he is such a little monster, but we love it and we love him. He is perfect just the way he is and I'm so glad god picked him for us. I love his spiciness and his stubbornness. I have heard that is a great personality to have as an adult.

I couldn't imagine my life without him and I'm so sad that he is growing so quickly. I'm happy, but I'm sad. I try my hardest not to complain about all the naughty things he does and gets himself into, because in reality - they are only this little for such a SHORT amount of time. The shortest out of his whole life. I have to eat up every moment I can. Toddlers are just so stinkin adorable and so innocent and pure. I love every minute. I'll blink my eyes again and he will be 10. I am trying to embellish in all these cute toddler moments as much as I can. I already can't believe he isn't a small baby anymore. I miss those days as well. I'm happy I have so many pictures that take me back to those moments and those memories that are so very special to me. All kids are special, so of course I think mine is beyond special and so perfect for our family. I love being Bridger's mommy.

Weekend full of sun and sand!

This past weekend was just so amazingly gorgeous! A "cool" front came in maybe Thursday? By the weekend it was just amazing weather. The wind wasn't cranking 100 mph, the sun was shining and the temperature was just perfect.

After our FOM conference we were trying to decide what to do. Ryan had a lot of work to do at the shop, but that just didn't seem fun for him nor I. I didn't want to stay home and inside and not enjoy the beautiful day. I talked him into taking the boat out. Bridger was extremely tired as he stayed up late the night before, and he really needed a nap, but we were just so eager to go. Bad parents. We got ready really quick, grabbed a bite to eat and headed to the boat. Bridger was of course so excited! He already calls it his boat, and he thinks he runs the show. He fights Ryan to drive and wants to be standing up seeing where we are going. While we were running it was a bit chilly out there on the water, but once we arrived at the ski canals, we found a nice little area where the wind was blocked and it was perfect! We got all of Bridger's "beach toys" as he calls them, out and got our own chairs out and relaxed. Thank goodness for the radio Ryan got at Christmas! Its perfect! We had the radio playing and made a couple drinks and just sat and talked forever. Bridger played the entire time, mainly staying very shallow not really getting wet. We stayed a few hours until we had to load up and head back home. We had a great time relaxing and soaking up the sun, and of course, my water baby was in heaven!

Saturday I was texting my girlfriend back and forth and we were chit chatting, I told her how awesome of a day it was, and she said she wanted to go out in the boat too! Of course, I won't argue with that. We quickly made plans for Sunday to go down to our favorite little spot, the "white sands" area as we like to call it. We left about 11am Sunday. We missed Church again. =( This beautiful weather, having a running boat it just too good for our own good! ha! We can't help it. We just love being out on the water. We are going to try harder to attend church regularly again, we just took a little break - right during a great segment too! boo. I am scared to see how Bridger will act going back. He gets so shy! Anyway! back to Church this weekend!
So we ran down, about a 15 min boat ride and it was a bit chilly. Once we got there, set up our chairs, got the kids toys out to play - it was so relaxing. The Northern tore up the beach part a little bit, but it was still perfect. Shallow forever so the kids were more safe. They played the entire time! No problems, no fights. They had the best time. Little Jaycob tried to keep up with the older kids, but he soon took a nap and was down for the count. We stayed till about 4. We all got a lot of sun and even burnt. The kids - no sunburn, but Bridger got that dang rash up and down the insides of his legs. I have no idea what its from, unless he is just really that sensitive. Poor baby, he walks funny and cries about it hurting him.
We got home, ordered pizza, let the kids play some more before calling it a day.....or a night. We were all pooped!
I'm glad that Bridger loves doing all of these things with us and is so good. Anything to make my baby happy!

FOM 2013

About a month ago, a friend of ours texted a bunch of us girls asking if we wanted to attend FOM - Festivals of Marriage conference at her church that she attends. I was immediately interested and wanted to know more. I, for one, love conferences at church and two, a marriage one? Sounds pretty amazing to me.

This conference was broken into 3 segments. I didn't really put much thought into it and how they would actually be segments. I have never attended before, I had no idea what to expect or which ones to attend. I thought each each they would just be different speakers talking about whatever. Our friends were able to attend Friday night, we couldn't get a sitter and Ryan had a lot of boat work that he had to get finished with. She was telling me how amazing it was, how informative it was and how we all need to hear this stuff. I was so bummed we missed that night, but super excited for ours the next day. The first night kind of gave you an overview on love language, etc? Or thats how it seemed from her description.

We went Saturday morning and my mom kept Bridg! There weren't alot of couples, but it wasn't overly packed to where it could be overwhelming either. The conference started and it was all live from another state, I want to say North Carolina? I had no clue. So we were watching these couples speak from another location on our big screen here locally. The first couple who spoke were great. They talked about listening to one another and paying attention, learning to show the other spouse that you care, however we need to realize that women just want to talk and men just want to solve the problem and move on. Ha! How true is that?! They talked for awhile and it was great, short and sweet, but good message that got across. Give eachother the respect and time.

The 2nd couple that spoke, are both pastors of their church and have been for as long as they have been married. They were speaking on the terms of "Loving the Stranger" this portion was really intense to me. They started out speaking on how they met, got married and their honeymoon. How everything went awry! Nothing went the way it was suppose to. I thought it was really weird with so much detail about it, but I was listening. They were going into how we show only certain parts of us as we get to know someone, how we slowly let those "water levels lower" and we show more of ourselves, how we need to show all of ourselves. Nothing should be hidden. If things are hidden in a relationship then you will never have a pure honest relationship with your spouse, or yourself. They said they knew something was wrong in the first 10 years of their marriage, but didn't really realize it until after this....

As the husband was explaining this to us on a dry erase board with the vision of a iceberg and the waters lowering - he then begins to explain his own secrets and what he had hidden. He remembered the exact date he went to his wife - told her he wanted a divorce, he wanted out, and he was cheating on her with her best friend and had been for years. He continued on saying how he went to counseling, and eventually she too started going with him. They were trying to talk it out and work it out. She wanted more information, he then told her everything about the affair, which left her leaving once again. He was attending counseling 6 days a week, he was regularly attending for himself more so then anything else. His counselor was telling him that they didn't think that he was revealing all, that there was more he was hiding. He was. He told him. He prayed for him and said he had hoped that his wife would listen to him and he would have courage to tell her. He then went to his wife and she demanded to know everything - he was also addicted to pornography and had been sexually abused as a child. At the moment, he never felt so free. All of his own burdens were no longer there, he tried to carry all of this on his own, hidden. She stuck by him. She said, now they can move forward, fresh, new. I couldn't believe this message. That takes a lot for a person to admit all of that to all these random people time after time, and for a person to forgive and move on. This was not the message I thought I would get out of this, it was so crazy to me. They stressed again, how important it is so be completely honest with your spouse and with yourself. To pray for yourself, to change, to be who you want to be, not to pray for your spouse and how you would like to change them. I may explain it terribly, but everything they said made complete sense! Both Ryan and I were impressed.

The last couple that spoke, spoke on sex. Ha! It was interesting, but a very important aspect of marriage. They had a lot of good points on this as well. Some I was surprised by. It was a quick, simple message in my opinion. We all get it, we understand. haha.

Overall, it was great! I'm sad we missed the other two segments, but maybe when they do another we can attend again .This is all information that is very good to hear. Very good to be reminded about, and excellent source to hear it from someone else.

Marriage is hard work. We will all have trials that we need to work thru. We will always have issues here and there, we are 2 different people, with different opinions, different desires, different views. To mold that into one, sometimes takes more work then usual. Sometimes we all forget that. I love these sort of things, conferences, talks about marriage and points that may help you improve your own. I definitely will be attending more in my future. I like a slap of reality every now and then.

Me and my honey! 10 years together this year. <3

Part 2 of Senior Pictures.............

Last night Katelynn and I went downtown Corpus to try to get some more pictures for her Senior pics. The ideas we originally had did not pan out so great. They were good in thought, but not in the picture. We walked around all downtown and would stop and take a picture in front of anything that we thought would remotely be cute. The wind was blowing pretty good, but we really can't postpone this any longer. We have got to get this done and edited and out in her graduation announcements, which really should have been sent already or, like now?! oops!

I think we got some good shots, and I haven't edited but a few. I took 170! We have a busy weekend ahead, but this editing of the majority of her pictures is definitely at the top of my list.

We had fun and again, she is a beautiful girl and her pictures are always stunning. Can't believe graduation is in a month!

Freer Rattlesnake Roundup 2013

This past weekend was the annual Rattlesnake Roundup in Freer, TX. I haven't been since high school so I vaguely remember anything about it. I remember it was fun and I saw Diamond Rio there.....that makes me sound old! haha!

We invited some friends and all loaded up...6 of us... in my car and made the hour and 15 min drive over. It was fun! We were there before we knew it. With everyone of us having our own choice in what song we should play next and all having conversations of our own or interrupting other ones. It was a blast! Us girls drank on the way there and we were loving every minute of that coconut rum!

As soon as we got there and out of the car, sandblasted! What in the world? Who brought all the sand with them? I really really didn't remember Freer being so sandy. The wind was cranking and we were all covered in sand literally within minutes of stepping out of the car. I was SO happy that I wore boots!

We shopped around and the poor guys had to run into "town" Freer's "town"....to get money out. Would you believe that their atms, that sit in a truck - were out of service? Seems they are dial up and weren't picking up a signal. haha!!! This was so funny to us. We really didn't think of these things before we left Corpus. We found a couple cute things and ran into some more people we knew. We briefly browsed at the rattlesnakes, and they had huge snakes! Boa's? I have no idea, I don't know anything about snakes and I don't want to! Many people were pausing to get their picture with these ginormous snakes.

Before we knew it the concert started. We didn't even make our way to the carnival! We completely forgot. That would've been fun. We listened to the Cody Johnson Band. They were good. Then came Pat Green - he did good too! Every time we had to go to the restroom the lines were ridiculously long! That was a pain, but everything else was great and went great!!

Until the rain.....it started raining and they announced that they would wait at least 30 minutes to see if the concert will go on. The lightening was pretty bad and it was raining pretty good. We then decided that we would miss who we all wanted to see - Randy Rogers Band and head home. There was no guarantee that he would even be playing if the weather didn't get better. We all got rained on and booked it to the car.

We actually got home I think a little before midnight?! We all had a blast and we rarely do things like this! I am so glad that we decided to make this trip! We had so much fun!! I missed my baby boy, but we had fun.

By the time we even got home it was thundering so bad and raining. Bridger woke up and hung out with us all until they all left. Then he was a lucky little boy and got to sleep in mommy and daddys bed.

Bridger's Video
