Colorado Trip 2016

We booked a family vacation to Colorado right after Christmas. Our family, my mom and Jamie and my sister and her family. I absolutely love Colorado and the mountains. Especially in the winter. I would never want to live there, just visit. I couldn't handle living in the snow for that many months, haha but seriously love visiting.

We drove up and broke it up to 2 different days. Boys did absolutely wonderful.

Hotel room on way to Colorado.

We were all so excited pulling into Colorado and seeing all the snow. Ryan had to stop and get boots so he could play in the snow with the boys and his feet wouldn't get wet everywhere we went. We took that first day in Colorado easy and ordered pizza for dinner.

House

We didn't get the house we originally wanted, or even the 2nd or 3rd. we had the worst luck trying to secure a house. We basically waited way too long to try to get a house. So when we finally got on it, all the ones that were really large and plenty of room were already taken. this house however, ended up working out perfect!

The first night we did Christmas with the family. The boys couldn't get thru the gets fast enough. they were so excited! Beckett of course refused to open any gifts. but he had fun playing with all his presents.

Beckett loved bridger light sword more than anything

Next morning most went skiing and we stayed back and just stayed warm.

We went to the Rocky Mountain Wildlife park while everyone skied. It was fun and we were the only ones there. Beckett was absolutely scared of the turkeys, of all things. It was hilarious and hard at the same time. He would scream bloody murder. We saw a red fox, grizzly bear, wolfs, bobcat, elk, and other animals as well. The mountain lion was super cool and paced back and forth a lot and actually let the lady pet him. It was a gorgeous day to walk around outside checking out all the animals.

After we left the wildlife park we decided to drive up to the slopes to see how bad or good of a drive it was. When we went to Ruidoso it was a awful drive up. We were hoping this drive wasn't going to be too bad. We were lucky, it wasn't too bad at all and didn't take long. However it was sooooo packed. I didn't get out because beckett had fallen asleep and I didn't wanna wake him up and get him out in the cold. So I sat in the car when Ryan, my mom and Bridger went to go find our crew. They weren't able to find them because it was so stinkin busy, found out the week after Christmas is the busiest for them. I could tell by the parking lot. Even to the left of this picture you can see cars real small, that they squeezed in. we were lucky to find a parking spot.

We put Beckett down for a nap and my mom said she would stay behind. We loaded up and headed out to this hill we saw on the way to slopes that you can tube down. I was just going to take pictures while everyone else did it. I also am not an adrenaline junky. haha. they had a blast and even Bridger did it as well. I was freezing by the time they finished tho. The rugs are down because the hill is so steep  you can actually go down it going over 50mph, which obviously is not safe at all. but everyone loved it.

We took a sleigh ride while it was snowing. It was so gorgeous! Beckett refused to wear a hat or gloves so luckily it wasn't a long ride.

While Beckett took a nap I stayed back because I wanted him to be well rested before our sleigh ride. everyone else left to go to Treasure Falls, which is a frozen waterfall, and it included a hike which would've of been good for beckett anyway. sad I missed it but they got gorgeous pictures.
