So are finally back home! We have been gone enjoying a vacation with just the two of us, Ryan and I. We were so busy leading up the the vacation I felt like I was running around with my head cut off!
Ryan's mom kept Bridger the first part of our trip, during the weekend. He is a handful so we like to be able to trade him off between the grandmas. Sunday night he went with my mom so she could easily take him to daycare each morning and still make it to work without having to take off. We all live within blocks of each other, my mom, us and his daycare sitter. From the sounds of it, he was definitely a handful, but a good boy as well. My mom is a no nonsense type of mom and she really doesn't put up with anything or give in for anything. She is pretty strict and likes to keep to a schedule. By Wednesday night she said she finally had a night of no tantrums and he was doing so much better. She got him back on a sleeping schedule, for us he likes to stay up so late! She cut him down on all the extra drinks, such as non stop chocolate milk and orange juice. We followed thru today and he actually did good and didn't complain too long. He didn't take his "TT" (Blankie) all week with him to daycare! I was like wait, what?! No!!! I want him to still want his TT, maybe because it makes me feel like he is still a baby? I don't know. But since we picked him up early, he has had it non stop.
We called and talked to him a couple of times. In person, I understand everything that he is saying. Every word, and if not - I catch on pretty quick. On the telephone however, I didn't understand much at all!! One night he didn't talk much because he was busy having a tantrum the entire time. I missed him SO much. I went to pick him up by myself because I knew if Ryan went I would be chop liver. Call me ridiculous, but i wanted that time with my sweet baby! He seemed so much bigger and grown! He talked so well and just looked like he aged so much. His little smile was priceless! I got hugs and kisses and it was just perfect. We came home and he was all Daddy of course! I'm happy to be home with my sweet love.
Now to our trip! We left Friday night to San Antonio, our flight left the next morning at 8am and we didn't want to stay home and have to wake up at like 3am! We got a hotel close to the airport, went to dinner at Texas Land & Cattle and headed to bed. The flight over went really well. We had a layover in Dallas, but it was really quick.
We got to Cabo and it was crazy! We were told to go directly outside and find a guy in a burgundy shirt - well, they have a serious amount of people just standing around when you clear baggage check, I mean an over abundance of people! We got caught - it was easy to catch us because we don't like being rude and they all seemed so nice and like they really wanted to help us and show us the right direction. Of course - they were trying to sell a time share! We got out of that to walk thru some more doors to an even bigger amount of people! We finally got thru that after having to be kind of rude and putting our foot down. We found our guy thank goodness! It was a chore! Now we officially know what everyone was trying to tell us.
The cab ride was about 45 mins or so. The terrain is was ugly and dry and not appealing at all. I knew Mexico was like that but I still seemed shocked. Once we got towards the resorts it looked much better. Our resort was beautiful!!! We stayed at a place called Riu Palace. It was huge! I mean HUGE! Tons of workers everywhere and always trying to help you. We were welcomed with a nice frozen drink and it was just perfect weather! We got an amazing room, it was a junior ocean front suite. It was right in the middle of everything overlooking it all. It was perfect. A stocked bar they refilled daily and plenty of room! This was an all inclusive hotel and built by the Spaniard's - which you could really tell, everything was just done top of the line, the wood work, the little details, everything. It was beautiful!!
We hung out at the pool quite a bit and met so many people. That is one cool thing about these trips, all the people you get to meet from other places. We love talking to everyone and getting to know them. The first two nights we didn't make it to dinner. The first night we were so tired from traveling, the 2nd day we spent some time at the marina and went to the mall down there and then the rest of the day at the pool, and Ryan drank so much rum that we didn't make it again. The sun wears you out too, but I was all for going to bed early. We didn't eat much the first few days.
Monday we had a fishing charter booked, that his cousin and her husband recommended to us. He has used him many times before and we felt comfortable going with him. My alarm didn't go off as it was suppose to, but luckily we woke up at 615! We had to be there at 630 - we made it at 645. We were only 15 mins late. whew! We headed out and it was so gorgeous! I was a bit chilly and had my yoga pants on the majority of the morning. I get so cold so easily. We just sat back and enjoyed trolling. Finally a marlin started playing with the bait!! It was on! Ryan wanted me to catch one so I took the reel. Holy moly! It was hardcore! I almost wanted to give up! It was so much work! It probably took me 30-45 mins to reel it in. Every time I would get it close to the boat, he would take off again. I was getting so pissed. lol. He didn't even jump or do anything else crazy, and I'm glad! It was seriously hard work reeling it in. I was tired after and my legs and arms were shaking. But it was so cool catching it. A striped marlin at about 140 lbs. After that we saw about 10 more marlin but none would take the bite. Ryan asked to go catch rooster fish, and luckily we did! We both caught one! And those too were a hard fight! Ryan was soooooooo excited!! He has always wanted to catch one! He was more excited about that then him catching a Marlin he said, but then again he can catch marlin here at home. I'm so happy he got to catch a rooster fish and be so thrilled.
That night we finally made it to dinner. We ate at the sushi place and it was so good. Ryan tried new things and I was so shocked. We tried to stay up afterwards but ended up in bed around 10pm.
Tuesday we just hung around the resort. We spent almost the entire day at the pool. Met some more people and just enjoyed the last day in the sun in the most amazing weather ever. There was no wind and it was just perfect!!! We made dinner reservations at the steak house and that was really good! We actually stayed up and met up with another couple we met that day to watch the show that night that the resort puts on. It was "Vegas Night" and it was really interesting. It was dancing and it was pretty good, but definitely not what the guys wanted to watch. LOL. That is when I heard there was a night club! I just barely found out on our last night there?!? I wanted to go so bad, but we were tired and I knew we had a busy day of traveling ahead of us. We were in bed by midnight.
We got up really early Wednesday morning and headed down to the beach to get some pictures as the sun was rising. I couldn't believe how gorgeous they were coming out. We traveled all day and didn't get home till 11pm. It was exhausting!!!
We had the best time and are already talking about where we will book our next vacation and when again we will be going back to Cabo. It was just so relaxing and beautiful. The weather is what caught me. It was never "hot" or "Cold" it was just perfect, and calm calm seas. I'll probably have the vacation bug for the next 6 months. Here are some pictures of our trip.
