Tubes are in!

This morning was our appointment for our sweet Bridgers tubes! I wasn't nervous or scared because after my discussion with the doctor last week, he made me feel 100% comfortable. It was a quick 3 minute procedure for them, had it been longer...I'm sure it would've been harder for me. The most challenging part of it was the waiting beforehand. We arrived at 6am and he didn't go back till 730. He was hungry, tired, and bored. We finally just had to let him scream it out. He wasn't having any of it. Finally - they took him back, and not long after we went to the waiting room, Ryan got a drink and they called us back to talk to Dr Jordan.

Dr Jordan told us that Bridger very much needed the tubes. That his ears are so bad! Tons of build up, and that we will experience bleeding for a few days because of it. We asked a few questions and I was able to go back to see Bridger. (one parent at a time) Now comes the saddest/hardest part - before I even turned the corner to recovery I could hear him screaming his lungs out!! He had 5 people around his bed trying to calm him down and get him to drink his bottle....as soon as he saw me, he had the look of relief! I scooped him up and snuggled him, loved him, and got him to drink some of his bottle. He cried the rest of the time and the time in car on the way home, but the poor baby did just come out of surgery....he finally fell alseep when we got to our street.

I took advantage of the time while Bridger napped and took me a nap since we had been up since 5am! Bridger is now up and doing wonderfully! He is playing and enjoying himself. We can actually call his name and he will look at us, tell him no and he will acknowledge us, I am SO happy that my baby can finally hear! I hope it will only get better from here on out. Now when I try to teach him Mama and Ball - he will know what I'm saying and not ignore me. =)

Playing so well after surgery

Very good at walking with this!

Evidence of puffs....one of his favorite snacks! Sweet boy!

Happy boy!

1st Birthday Party, new babies and Church!

While we were in Corpus this past weekend, we had a 1st Birthday Party to go to!! Happy 1st Birthday Landon! Landon is the sweet little boy of our dear friends, Pat and Karie. They had a cute Mickey Mouse themed party at their home and Bridger and I got to stop by.

I haven't taken Bridger to any birthday parties before because he is so wild and crazy. But luckily he was a good boy and played with all of Landon's toys. The boys were cute but aren't into each other just yet. Once Bridger gets a little older, I'm sure they will become such great running buddies.

Both Landon and Bridger wanted no part of the pinata! I'm sure Landon was thinking, "Why are we beating up Mickey Mouse?" and Bridger, well he just doesn't like to do things that you make him do or help him do....

We stayed for about an hour and Bridger started acting crazy because he was so tired! It was past nap time and he really needed it! We headed to Grandmas house for a nap and this is what we got....

While Bridger napped, Malori and her sweet little one, Kyler came over for a visit! Kyler is a month old and so sweet! He is so little! It is really hard for me to remember Bridger being that little, but he was and even smaller at birth! I wish I could remember him that small! They are so cute and lovable! I loved the sound of Kyler eating and I too, forgot that sound. I enjoyed getting to hold him, feed him and give him some loves! Bridger woke up before they left and didn't waste any time flirting with Malori!

We got up Sunday morning and went to church with Grandma. I dropped Bridger off in the daycare at church because I knew he wouldn't sit with me and be good. I was a little nervous dropping him off to people I didn't know, but it quickly passed when I realized how nice and sweet everyone was. I knew he would be ok. There were tons of toys for him to play with and keep him occupied, and I could check in on him on the monitor if I wanted. I really enjoyed the sermon and the live band that they have. Its been a really long time that I have been to church and I'm glad that I went. I just wish Ryan would have been feeling better to join us. By the time the service was over and I went to get Bridger, he was screaming. Guess it didn't go to good after all....but then again, it was way past nap time!

It wasn't till this weekend when I was around other babies, that I realized my baby really is wild and crazy! His personality is so nonstop and so hyper. For me, I do this everyday so it doesn't phase me or I don't notice it.
I couldn't help but laugh when Malori asked me, "Is he always like this?". Yep - he does not stop for one moment! He doesn't watch tv, he doesn't stay occupied with one thing for too long,he has to touch everything, he is on the go, things to do, places to go type of little boy! I love those moments with other little ones that are calm and sweet, but I wouldn't change my rowdy boy for anything!! He is.....his fathers son.

While driving home to Beaumont, Bridger decided to take only one nap! I sat in the back seat and we played, snacked, and had sweet moments. He just loves to be noticed and acknowledged. He is so alert and really starting to pay more attention, not much more, but a little. You can see the little wheels in his head turning, trying to figure out what I'm doing this time or that time. He loves to smack my face and pull my lips. I was a great distraction for the long 5hour car ride. Here he is with his Grinch, he absolutely loves stuffed animals!

9 month pictures

Sunday my mom and I took Bridger to take his 9 month pictures at JcPennys. Ryan and I tried last weekend here in Beaumont, but he wanted no part of it!

We got there right when he woke up from a nap so it was perfect timing! They didn't want to use the prop that I wanted, but we still got a couple of cute ones. Now that he is a crawler, he wants no part of sitting there and "posing" for the camera. You have to be quick and get him with that 2 second smile.

I am happy he got a few good ones out of it! Thank goodness Grandma was there to make the little sweetheart smile! He thinks Grandma is the silliest ever! =)

9 Months old!!

Still Sick....

So Friday night we were driving down to Corpus for the weekend and Ryan started complaining about a lot of pressure in his right ear. I didn't think it could be that bad since he just started getting sick earlier that week, I thought maybe it would go away with a little Ibuprofen and he could go to the doctor Monday morning.

By the time we got to Corpus he was in tons of pain and he tried to sleep it off but wound up waking up at 3am saying he couldn't handle it. He and his mom headed to the ER while I stayed home with sleeping Bridger.

A couple hours later he got home and he found out that he had a sinus infection that led to a blister on his eardrum!! Really, how does that happen?! He said the nurse and doctors said that it was the "coolest" thing because usually it is deeper in the canal and they can't see it, but his was very "visible". I guess he felt pretty cool for a minute! =)

They said he would feel better if it would pop, but not to try to pop it. That he will be hurting for at least 4-5 days.
His face is now swollen and he isn't feeling much better, but were concerned about not having enough or the right medication to knock out the sickness, so Ryan was off today and went to he local doctor here. Turns out that he has an ear infection and the doc didn't see the blister anymore. She gave him new pain meds, and 2shots, and meds for his infection and hopefully his sinus infection wont come back. In the midst of it all, she said she will get him a referral to a Gastroenterologist...(I think that's right) for his liver. We aren't super concerned with his liver right because he got background on it last year, but it never hurts to make sure everything is ok.
Meanwhile, I am still sick and starting to feel a little bit better. I got a stronger anti Friday and it seems to be helping with the intense pain in my sinus'....but still getting headaches, etc. This medicine is pretty strong and makes me a little loopy, I don't really like it, but I have GOT to kick this sickness out! Its almost been 4 weeks! After I finish this stronger anti, I will go back and take the lesser one for the remainder of whats left. I'm hoping by then, I will be mended and feeling much better, Ryan will be feeling better and Bridger won't get sick! =)

Bridger is feeling better, still has a little temp, and grabbing his ears. Thank goodness tomorrow is the day. I'm excited to help my baby finally feel better!

We are just a little down with sickies, but we will get better and will be so excited when we are! =)

Sweet Times and ENT

Since I got my steroid shot yesterday at the doctor for all of my sickness, I could not sleep at all last night! I probably got a total of 2 hours, it was miserable. I was tossing and turning and not really sleeping, and I heard Bridger wake up at 2:45 and start talking. I turned on the video monitor and layed in bed watching him and listening to his talking turn into a singing course that consisted of "Dadadda and Nanananana" It was the cutest sound ever. He was trying to comfort himself and put himself back to sleep. He'd sit up, then love on his lovie or puppy, and it went back and forth like this the entire time all while he was singing! I actually loved that I was awake and able to watch him. He is so sweet. Finally after 30 minutes, he got tired of doing that and started crying and mommy and daddy came to the rescue, quick diaper change, bottle and back to bed. He is such a cute boy! He sure loves to talk/sing and snuggle on his lovie!!

He loves this lovie. Has to be touching him, it is so sweet!

His ENT appt was today at 2pm. I knew there was a reason why I didn't want to go alone. I was there from 2pm to 5pm. Lots of waiting around in different areas and with one VERY tired, cranky baby! It was interesting but we made it thru!! We found out that Bridger definitely needs tubes. Makes me sad that we had to wait this long to be referred to the ENT! I understand you have to have a certain amount of infections, etc. But Bridger exceeded that back in December. From the sounds of it he has had this build up of the "serum......blue glue" for quite some time. Probably started back when he got his first upper respiratory infection during his first week at daycare at 7 weeks. He failed his hearing test and Dr said its like when we plug our ears with our fingers, we hear 25% less....Bridger is at 40%less. He doesn't really understand us when we talk low, he doesn't even know we are talking to him, he can't really hear it. He responds great to very LOUD sounds! It isn't permanent and it will get better with the tubes. His poor little ears are so full of fluid that, that also plays a roll in the hearing. His appointment is set for next Tuesday, March 15th. I have to go this Thursday to do paperwork, billing and registering at the hospital. It is a quick 3 minute surgery they said and after an hour or two we can take him home. Very simple procedure for them.

Playing around with my camera and sweet love

I was really nervous going into this, but I do feel better now. After learning about how much Bridger can and will benefit from it, I think it is wonderful that it is an opportunity. Doctor says he will start to talk more, no wonder he has been ignoring my constant chatter of "Say Ma- ma!" haha. He will have better balance, sleep better and just be a happier baby. He needs this and I'm excited for him to finally feel better! Poor baby has been in pain.

We did bath/bed time early tonight since Bridger didnt get his afternoon nap today. He was out by 6:30pm. He was so out, I was able to sneak in and take these photos of him sleeping. After 15 shots,I think I got a few good ones! =)

9 months!

Bridger had his 9 month well check up today. I always hate going to the doctor and well check ups aren't any better. Having a personality like Bridgers.... waiting for an hour in the waiting room is something that never goes over well for us. Once we finally got called back, Bridger was exhausted and out of control! =) But we managed and he is such a good boy!!
Bridger weighs 18 lbs 13 ozs, he's in the 25 percentile and he is 28 inches in height.

I can't believe this sweet little boy is now 9 months! Here he is 4 weeks old!

Bridger still has a double ear infection. We had to stop taking antibiotics Tuesday because it caused him to break out in a rash all over his body. He had a couple days where he was really coming around, but stopping the meds put us a step back.

It is light, but you can see the little red bumps, they were everywhere!

We now have new meds and I'm hoping that these will start helping him soon! He has started a bad cough, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned. We will also start him back on his meds for his runny nose, congestion, etc....we are hoping this will help with all the "other" nasties lurking around.

We have some good news though! The ENT called and we have an appt with them next Tuesday. We are excited and nervous. We are ready to help our baby start feeling better and we know this is a good thing! We will learn more next week when we go to the appointment.

Even as bad as Bridger feels he can still be so sweet. I took him with me to go get his meds and everyone stops to talk to him as he is sitting in the shopping cart looking both ways as quickly as he can. He stops for a moment, looks at whos talking to him, shoots them a smile and continues taking everything in around him. He is such a flirt and I think its the cutest thing!! I love that no matter how bad he feels, he can flash that adorable smile and it lights up the entire room!

He hasn't been into his baby food at his night feeding lately. I thought it was the flavors I was choosing, but he doesn't like any of them! He actually will start gagging and push it out of his mouth. I'm not sure what the deal is because he eats it just fine during the day. Maybe his tiredness contributes to his funny ways. At least he loves his little Gerber snacks and eats plenty of those!

Such a beautiful baby boy! Everything is so perfect on him. I love to just stare at him every night while im putting him down. He will fall asleep as im rocking him and this is one of my most favorite times of the day. I actually have a snuggle bug on my hands! I am counting my many blessings today and I'm so proud that Bridger is ours!

On the mend....

We are finally starting to feel better around the Harris household. We aren't 100% yet but we are getting there! I keep taking dayquil and some other meds to help kick my sickies. Bridger's fever would not come down and I finally made an appt. on Friday. We were really short staffed at work and Ryan was off so he was able to take Bridger in. Unfortunately Bridger has a double ear infection. This is the 4th infection in 2-3 months so they are referring us to a ENT doctor. Hopefully they will be calling us this week. Bridger's doctor said tubes, so we will see. It is a good thing, but it is also makes me nervous. I know this is what Bridger bear needs and it will help him tremendously, so I'm happy and anxious to hear from the ENT doctor. Now that he is on meds for his ears and runny nose he is doing so much better! Not so clingy and whiny as he had been the past week. He couldn't help it, he felt so bad. =(

Here is Bridger snoozin outside in his stroller. He loves it outside and the light breeze and me pushing him around knocked him right out!

Saturday night Bridger's fever was 103.3 and rising, we called the doctors office and they said they would've already been on the way to the ER, which scared Ryan. I didn't want to rush off and WAIT forever and have the fever even worsen so we stuck him in a luke warm bath for 30 mins or so and finally got the fever to start dropping. It was very scary and we didn't sleep much that night, we kept getting up and checking on him, making sure his fever wasn't returning. Poor little guy has had a rough go, its bound to get better!! =)

On our way back from the Turpin's, munchin on some snacks. I love his blues!

We had a great weekend here at home, just wish the weather would've been nicer. Ryan is still keeping busy with side work for boats and motors. I think he gets tired, but yet he loves working on motors! Its just a blessing that he is able to do side work.

Will get ANYTHING you leave in reaching distance!

Something new for him to get into!

Peddler Show and Favorites Dance

We spent the weekend in Corpus again and mom and I got to hit up the Country Peddler Show! I always love going and seeing what new unique things I can find. I ended up with more this year than mom, which is totally unusual! BUT ~ I got some birthday gifts done, and even a Mothers Day gift. I even got me a little something for our upcoming vacation. It was fun, and packed. Bridger was tired and only really got an hour nap in and I was worried just a little about how he would act. Of course - I shouldn't of even thought twice about it, he was typical Bridger and LOVED it because he got to stare at the hundreds of people. He loves people watching and it definitely kept him entertained the entire time. I was so proud of my little boy and how well he did. I was a little bummed about the selection of baby clothing though. They always have tons and girl clothes, and a pinch of boy clothes! then if they did have something cute, they were out of his size. We still had a lot of fun and will be hitting up the next one come summer.

New toy from Grandma from the Peddler show! He loved it!

I took Katelynn shopping for her birthday at Express and she made out pretty well! We just happen to hit it during a sale. We got her alot of cute summer clothes, what else does a 16 year old girl want besides clothes!?! It was perfect! She had her Favorites dance Saturday night and we went to take pictures. All the girls decided to go together, which I thought was a great idea! They are a tight group of girls and they all looked amazing!

The weekend just flew by and we are back home with sickies. I have the flu! But its a viral flu and it needs to run its course..... and I'm not sure what is going on with Bridger but he keeps holding a temperature- I kept thinking teething temp, but I'm not sure if 102 is a teething temp. I'm keeping my eye on him, giving him Tylenol and hoping its nothing.

Sweet 16

Katelynn's 16th birthday was yesterday, February 21st. We went down to Corpus this past weekend and got to do a little celebrating with her. It is hard to believe that she is already 16! We used to kid about this time years and years ago, about how we would have her take us to the bar and pick us back up once she turned 16. Now - that seems so far fetched....we have a little one and don't do much "going out". Katelynn had gone back and forth on what kind of vehicle she wanted, but once she saw this BMW X5, she was sold. It was the exact color, everything that she wanted. About a week before her birthday, Gaye called us and told us she was buying the car and would surprise her with it that weekend.....perfect because we were already headed down!!!
Friday night she had all of her friends over and Ryan and I....and Bridger fast asleep, drive up in the driveway and Ryan goes in and tells her and her friends to come help with the bags. I only got a couple of photos and really wish I would of taken video of it! She screamed, jumped around like crazy and jumped on her mom. She was beyond excited!! I was so excited to see her so excited. Of course we had to do lots of driving around it and checkin it out! It is a beautiful car! Now- all she is waiting on, is getting her license! Happy Sweet 16 Katelynn!
Katelynn with her friends hanging out the sunroof!!

"Thanks so much mom!!!"

Happy Birthday Katelynn!
