Stock the Bar

Once we moved and got settled we had a few friends and family members that gave us the idea of a house warming party, but in the form of stocking our bar. We thought it sounded like a very cute idea. Why not. We don't really a house warming party filled with gifts for our home. We have plenty of stuff and do not really need anything else. We figured it would be fun to build our bar.

We had so many other events that were going on and we finally set the date and rolled with it. I didn't send out any formal invites. Do people still do that? I did what we do in 2012, sent out a invite on facebook! ha. I had a few "yes" replies saying the would attend. Again, you still not get rsvps.

However we did decide this time to not over cook and keep the food to fun simple things. We always have well over enough food - and left overs that we never eat. The girls came over to craft for the party and give some fun ideas.

Our good friends the Searbys came in especially for our party. We don't see them but a couple of times a year so this was a fun visit. Anndrea helped prepare all of the food and ideas and worked her butt off with me. It is alot of work preparing for party - how do I always forget that?!

People showed up and we had a great time. SO many people didn't come that said they would. That happens. We had some great friends that came and drank and had a good time. We ate, we played music, the boys watched football, we played drinking games....we stayed up entirely too late! I'm so thankful for our friends and coming to celebrate with us, "welcoming" us into our home. It was fun, but i think we will now take a break from all the throwing parties and relax and keep things simple.
