On the mend....

We are finally starting to feel better around the Harris household. We aren't 100% yet but we are getting there! I keep taking dayquil and some other meds to help kick my sickies. Bridger's fever would not come down and I finally made an appt. on Friday. We were really short staffed at work and Ryan was off so he was able to take Bridger in. Unfortunately Bridger has a double ear infection. This is the 4th infection in 2-3 months so they are referring us to a ENT doctor. Hopefully they will be calling us this week. Bridger's doctor said tubes, so we will see. It is a good thing, but it is also makes me nervous. I know this is what Bridger bear needs and it will help him tremendously, so I'm happy and anxious to hear from the ENT doctor. Now that he is on meds for his ears and runny nose he is doing so much better! Not so clingy and whiny as he had been the past week. He couldn't help it, he felt so bad. =(

Here is Bridger snoozin outside in his stroller. He loves it outside and the light breeze and me pushing him around knocked him right out!

Saturday night Bridger's fever was 103.3 and rising, we called the doctors office and they said they would've already been on the way to the ER, which scared Ryan. I didn't want to rush off and WAIT forever and have the fever even worsen so we stuck him in a luke warm bath for 30 mins or so and finally got the fever to start dropping. It was very scary and we didn't sleep much that night, we kept getting up and checking on him, making sure his fever wasn't returning. Poor little guy has had a rough go, its bound to get better!! =)

On our way back from the Turpin's, munchin on some snacks. I love his blues!

We had a great weekend here at home, just wish the weather would've been nicer. Ryan is still keeping busy with side work for boats and motors. I think he gets tired, but yet he loves working on motors! Its just a blessing that he is able to do side work.

Will get ANYTHING you leave in reaching distance!

Something new for him to get into!

Peddler Show and Favorites Dance

We spent the weekend in Corpus again and mom and I got to hit up the Country Peddler Show! I always love going and seeing what new unique things I can find. I ended up with more this year than mom, which is totally unusual! BUT ~ I got some birthday gifts done, and even a Mothers Day gift. I even got me a little something for our upcoming vacation. It was fun, and packed. Bridger was tired and only really got an hour nap in and I was worried just a little about how he would act. Of course - I shouldn't of even thought twice about it, he was typical Bridger and LOVED it because he got to stare at the hundreds of people. He loves people watching and it definitely kept him entertained the entire time. I was so proud of my little boy and how well he did. I was a little bummed about the selection of baby clothing though. They always have tons and girl clothes, and a pinch of boy clothes! then if they did have something cute, they were out of his size. We still had a lot of fun and will be hitting up the next one come summer.

New toy from Grandma from the Peddler show! He loved it!

I took Katelynn shopping for her birthday at Express and she made out pretty well! We just happen to hit it during a sale. We got her alot of cute summer clothes, what else does a 16 year old girl want besides clothes!?! It was perfect! She had her Favorites dance Saturday night and we went to take pictures. All the girls decided to go together, which I thought was a great idea! They are a tight group of girls and they all looked amazing!

The weekend just flew by and we are back home with sickies. I have the flu! But its a viral flu and it needs to run its course..... and I'm not sure what is going on with Bridger but he keeps holding a temperature- I kept thinking teething temp, but I'm not sure if 102 is a teething temp. I'm keeping my eye on him, giving him Tylenol and hoping its nothing.

Sweet 16

Katelynn's 16th birthday was yesterday, February 21st. We went down to Corpus this past weekend and got to do a little celebrating with her. It is hard to believe that she is already 16! We used to kid about this time years and years ago, about how we would have her take us to the bar and pick us back up once she turned 16. Now - that seems so far fetched....we have a little one and don't do much "going out". Katelynn had gone back and forth on what kind of vehicle she wanted, but once she saw this BMW X5, she was sold. It was the exact color, everything that she wanted. About a week before her birthday, Gaye called us and told us she was buying the car and would surprise her with it that weekend.....perfect because we were already headed down!!!
Friday night she had all of her friends over and Ryan and I....and Bridger fast asleep, drive up in the driveway and Ryan goes in and tells her and her friends to come help with the bags. I only got a couple of photos and really wish I would of taken video of it! She screamed, jumped around like crazy and jumped on her mom. She was beyond excited!! I was so excited to see her so excited. Of course we had to do lots of driving around it and checkin it out! It is a beautiful car! Now- all she is waiting on, is getting her license! Happy Sweet 16 Katelynn!

"Thanks so much mom!!!"

Happy Birthday Katelynn!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! I hope that everybody had a wonderful day with their loved ones. We are keeping it simple tonight and just staying home.  Ryan brought home a sweet card and some beautiful flowers for me. We aren't too good at getting eachother gifts for holidays because we usually buy in between. Probably something we should work on. ha! I got Ryan a card and Bridger a 1st Vday card and outfit. Since he is only 8 1/2 months I really wanted to keep it easy, he doesn't realize the difference yet anyway. =)
Bridger finally got to see his daddy today and he was so excited. When Ryan walked into the room, Bridger dropped his toy his was playing with on the spot and crawled as fast as he could to his daddy! It was so cute! He missed his daddy so much and he enjoyed spending time with him tonight. Ryan seems to think that Bridger has grown so much since he's been gone. He said he is so much chunkier! I don't see it, but then I'm with him everyday. One thing is for sure though, our little one is growing up so quickly.

Happy Valentines day, Love Bridger

Sweet love! Missed his daddy so much!

He couldn't get enough!

Weekend without Daddy

Ryan had to go out of town to work this weekend, so Bridger and I got lots of Mommy and baby time in. We only left the house one time and that was only because we were almost out of formula! We stayed in and got lots of cleaning, organizing and redecorating done. Baby stuff is piled up and ready for daddy to put up in the attic. It feels good to get all of that stuff put up, but it is also so sad because it is a sign that my sweet little one is growing so quickly.

Bridger was such a good boy all weekend and I enjoyed spending some one and one time with him. I learned a couple new things about our sweet boy. He once loved the sound of the vacuum and now he is deathly afraid of it! He doesn't even like to see it, its kind of cute. He is still very scared of his rocking horse that Santa brought him and holds on to my neck as tight as he can hiding his face, it is so sweet! Rocking horse will continue to stay in the spare bedroom for now. Bridger does not like to be more than two feet away from me, I can walk room to room to do my chores because Bridger just follows me. Its adorable!
Now that our weekend is over - its back to the grind for a few days before we head back down to Corpus for the weekend. I'm excited for this trip because it is the Country Peddler show and Katelynn's 16th birthday! The Peddler show is something that I love doing with my mom whenever it comes to town!! I can always find some goodies and unique stuff! And of course, a 16th birthday is a pretty big deal! We just want to be there to celebrate it with her.

Well,  we took alot of pictures  this weekend (of course!)- that is always a must! Here are some of the sweet pictures of my amazing little boy.

This is a for sure sign of tiredness!

Saturday morning I went in to get Bridger up and this is what I walked into. I ran to get my camera and Bridger was all smiles, and all I could do was laugh! =)

He loves his puppy! Or maybe he is disciplining him?! hehe!

I finally framed Bridger's sweet 3 month picture. It is a 11x13 and thats what I kept trying to find. Finally realized that the 11x14 will have to do and I will just get another mat for the frame, but I still love it! I think it turned out perfect.

my love!

So peaceful, dreaming of seeing daddy in the morning! =)

8 1/2 months

Bridger is now 8 1/2 months old and growing quickly. I can not believe how fast time has flown and how much Bridger has grown. I remember thinking that I couldn't imagine him being anything other than a sweet wittle newborn. Now he is growing and learning to much.

  • He is currently in size 3 diapers
  • He wears 6-9 month clothing, but is still in many of his 3-6 month bottoms
  • He wears a size 3 shoe, but only because his feet are so wide we need a bigger shoe to fit! They should make wide fit for babies! hehe!
  • While home with us he still takes his morning nap of 2 hours, afternoons are tricky but we usually can get another 2 hour nap out of him, daycare gets 30 mins if they are lucky.
  • He loves his "lovie" and falls asleep with it every night!
  • He has been crawling for a month now and has really picked up speed
  • Bridger loves doors. He loves to swing them open, then close, over and over again. They never "close" and I always watch closely
  • He has finally started imitating us! He has never had any desire and now he will stick his tongue out when we do. It is so cute to watch
  • Bridger has started making the most hilarious sound - it sounds like an old man hacking/clearing his throat. He does it constantly and is very focused when he does it. I am not quite sure what it means or why he does it
  • He still puts his arms over his face when he is tired and sleepy, which I find way adorable!

  • Bridger now walks along anything and everything he can. He often holds on with only one hand and he has great balance!
  • He is always using his "pincher's" in motion like he is picking something up. He  practices all day! It is so cute!
  • Bridger currently speaks, "da da da da da da" and "na na na na na" still no mama, but I absolutely love hearing just these "words" as well!
  • Since he is always on the go and such a busy body- he runs into everything because he is looking elsewhere. We have had several accident reports written up at daycare
  • He is already the mean boy - he pushes down his little friend Emily at daycare and pulls her hair! Maybe he is flirting already?!?
  • He still loves bath time and likes to takes baths with daddy. We hardly ever have a dry floor after Bridger is done with his bath. He is wild and I think its perfect!
  • When Bridger is into something and we tell him "no, no" he turns and looks at us and smiles big and continues on with what he is into. He is still little and doesnt understand, but it also doesnt hurt to get the word "no" out there when its associated to getting into garbage cans, outlets(even with them protected), and other little things here and there that could hurt him. He obviously thinks its a game, he is so precious!

  • Currently Bridger is drinking 5- 7ounce bottles a day, 3 jars of baby food, 1-2 cups of whatever lunch daycare makes that day(spaghetti, macaroni & Cheese, noodles) and many many snacks. He is known at daycare as one to never turn down food. Where does he store it all?!?
  • He still sleeps thru the night, 7pm-7am. Of course we have off nights, but this is the norm
  • Bridger loves balls, keys, cords, my necklaces and anything that makes loud noise!
  • He is his fathers child, no doubt. We take him out to eat and he sits in the highchair constantly turning his head back and forth watching EVERYbody and EVERYthing that is going on around him, and he doesn't stop but to take a bite of food. He is a "rubber necker" just like daddy! I often wonder what he is thinking about it all
  • Mornings are my most favorite time with him. He is ALWAYS in the best of moods, he smiles, laughs, talks, and snuggles(for a tiny bit).  If he had a bottle in the early am hours, when he wakes up for the day, he takes the bottle and runs it across the crib rails, I'm not sure if its to get our attention or just to...well.......make noise. He can play and entertain himself for a good 2 hours, loving everything. It is the sweetest thing to watch and join in on.

This picture is so cute, he was smiling in his sleep and I just happen to catch it!!

  • The best thing ever is that Bridger absolutely ADORES his daddy! When Ryan gets home from work, Bridger crawls to him as fast as he can and will not let Ryan put him down for as long as he can hold on. Ryan plays with him and takes him around the house doing the things he needs to get done. It melts my heart to see how much love they have for each other and I just know they are going to be the best of friends.

Daddy and Bridger

Wanted Daddy to snuggle him to sleep this night!

This is how Bridger cries and freaks out now. His head pulls back in a dramatic way, then he just lets it fall and makes his shoulders "shudder" with his cries. It is so adorable.

Mommy and baby Bridger back on Thanksgiving. I can't believe how much he has grown since then

I cleaned out and started organizing Bridgers clothes for storage. This is all of his clothes under 6 months. This boy has been blessed with so many clothes that are still in great condition.  Maybe for us one day if we have another boy, maybe for some friends, and if not - I'll eventually give them away. For now, I cant help but save them all.

Ice Storm 2011

The Galveston Resort seminar took us forever and we got out of there later than we expected. Our drive to Corpus was long and late. We knew that the forecast was stating that we should be receiving ice/sleet, but we honestly didn't think it could be that serious! We got word on our way down about the main bridge being shut down into Corpus because of the ice and had to reroute ourselves. About 45 mins out of Corpus the ice started sticking pretty good on the windshield and the sleet started picking up. We heard on the radio that most of the highways into Corpus were closed and we were on the phone with my mom trying to figure out a way to get around it. After sliding on 2 overpasses and turning sideways on a 3rd, we decided it was time to STOP and not continue driving. This was very serious and we wanted out of it! Especially when you have precious cargo on board! We felt pretty blessed when we came over that last overpass and all that was in sight was 2 hotels and 1 shell station.

This was our first stay in a hotel with Bridger and it was interesting. Bridger has always gone to sleep in his own bed and alone. So getting him to sleep with us in a bed was hard but we conquered! He loved being able to crawl around the entire room and kept wandering back to the restroom door. Bridger loves door and swings them open and close over and over again! I'm glad that it wasn't a long night fighting with a 8 month old to go to sleep. =) The next morning we woke up to numerous wrecked vehicles in the parking lot and a packed hotel. In just 5 hours there were over 100 wrecks. Ice covered everything so we waited around until check out time to give the ice some time to melt. All the highways were still closed so we had to take back roads and finally ended up getting to Corpus at noon on friday! What a chore and what crazy night. We are so glad that we were safe and feel horrible for all of those that were out in the weather.

Ice covered the entire truck.

Vacations

We went to Galveston to a resort for a vacation seminar we were invited to. On the invitation it states that we will win 1 of 5 prizes and a bonus gift. After talking to many friends, we realized that this really is a legit deal. We called and made our reservation and headed out. This seminar was suppose to take only 1.5 hours of our time, so after 2 hours of waiting to even talk to someone, we were pretty irritated to say the least. We had a tired baby and a not very fun place for him to play. We finally got to talk to someone and then it took her another 2 hours to explain the entire process to us. Long story short - We had to say no to this vacation deal, which for some people I bet it would be amazing, for us it just didnt work. We finally got our prizes!!! I busted on the scratch off and didn't win the $49,000. bummer! But we did win a 5 day Island Getaway to 1 of 5 places and a 4 day cruise to Mexico or Bahamas!! We were still excited to win something! Since we are going to Antigua in April, and these trips have to be used within one year, we have decided to give the cruise to Ryans mom. We will keep the Island getway and head to Maui! We are happy and will be more excited when we actually book it and have everything set! So you actually can win at these time share/resort seminars!!

Birthday fun!

My 28th birthday fastly approached me and we headed to Corpus to celebrate. My mom offered to watch Bridger so we could have a night out on the town. Technically this would only be our 2nd time out since Bridger was born. We were excited to celebrate with friends and we knew that Bridger was in good hands. Ryan had bought my favorite cake that I have got every year since I was a little girl,  a devils food cake/mint chocolate chip ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins! I, of course loved!! He even put some trick candles on the cake. We headed to Politics and Whiskey River, and had a great trooper with us! Our friend Malori is due on the 25th and she is a great trooper! being 37 weeks preggo and sober with all of us that were drinking! She looks beautiful and I can't wait to meet her sweet little boy, Kyler.

My co-workers even got me a delish cake from Rao's and gave me some beautiful gifts! I took a couple of days off and really got to enjoy a nice long weekend! Besides going out, I got my hair done, shopped, and my mom took us out to dinner at the Roadhouse! Now to enjoy this next year, I'm sure it will fly by especially now that I have a little one keeping me on my toes!
