Boat Rides in the fall.......

It is funny how when spring rolls around we can not wait to go out in the boat......we literally devote every weekend all weekend to going out in the boat. We have craved it all winter long and we do not waste any time. This year was exactly that. I had an extremely dark tan by April! Bridger absolutely loves the boats and is always such a good boy when we go on it.

Thru out the summer we start not going as much....I don't know why. But by the time fall rolls around I'm usually like eh. I don't want to go. It really isn't the first thing on my mind as it is at the beginning of spring. Last weekend we went to go try to get some 3 year pictures of Bridger. I am terrible and haven't done any since his 2 year pictures. I stopped trying because the 2 year old ones were such a hassle and a pain. I got Bridger all dressed and headed out to this pier that I envisioned to be really cute. Of course, it was gorgeous weather outside so people were out fishing off of it. People in the background of his pictures were not going to work. I was bummed and we loaded up. We ran by Ryans moms real quick and Ryan said hey - lets go for a boat ride. I wasn't excited or really wanting to. Especially because Bridger was fast asleep in his car seat. (due to lack of naps lately).

I thought, fine, what the heck, a nice family outing. Sure. We left and were going to run across to the island. We were almost there when Ryan slowed down....and then I heard it. Sort of a knocking sound....yep. Motor is broke. Really? Ryan looked at it and was certain it was the air compressor or something like that...i don't know motor talk that well. He said we definitely couldn't run it back, we would have to idle. So - we idled, and idled, and idled, and idled. It took us about an hour to get back which should only take maybe 10 mins!!! Luckily - it was a gorgeous day and we had good jams on and we got to enjoy our time as a family relaxing in the boat. I forget how much I really do enjoy boat rides in the fall, just because it isn't scorching hot, doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable. I had a great time and was happy for our little mishap. I even got to get some pictures of my sweet little boy.

on a side note : Ryan already fixed the motor! yes, hes that good! =)

Vacation Time again.......

Since we went to Cabo back in May we have been talking to some friends of ours about doing a couple vacation! We have been searching and searching where we want to go. We all of course had different things we wanted for sure...we had called 3 different travel agents as well! Finally the 3rd one we called gave us the best information. I can't believe it took that long to get somebody - we have never had issues before booking thru an agent.

We went to dinner a few weekends ago to discuss and finalize where we wanted to go. We met the other couple at Takinewia - LOVE that place. We are all pretty laid back and go with the flow, non of us really were dying to go here or there. Some of the places we got quotes on, the other couple had already been to. We finally found a place that we all want to go to and are very excited to go. We came up with Punta Canta Dominican Republic. I have heard that it is gorgeous there and i'm excited to go! We are going one day longer then we usually go for, and we are hoping to get excursions booked before we get there. We have to still get back with the travel agent to finalize and pay. It took alot of hard work to get there, its alot harder planning vacay for 4 instead of just 2. Flights, days, etc. We are going next May 2014. I am SO excited to be going and with our friends.

After dinner, we went out for a few drinks. We ended up bar hoping a little bit and staying out way to late, but we had so much fun. I just wanted to dance. It felt like it had been awhile since we went out and lets face it, i like to dance! Finally the last place we stopped at had great dance music. I had such a blast!!! Nights like those are a must every now and then!

Here's to vacay May 2014! Wahoo!!!!

Work Retreat 2013

I too had my Company party, which is a South Texas Retreat. We merged with a company called Higginbotham a couple of years ago. Higginbotham is huge. I believe we are now at 550 employees total from all offices, close to one of the largest insurance agencies. Since we have offices all over now, they put together these little company Retreats, kind of like a fun day and day to get to know other people from other offices, and a bit informative at the same time. There is a North Texas Retreat and a South Texas Retreat. The prior 2 years the South Texas Retreat has been in Port Aransas. They have meeting type of thing in the morning, then lunch then free time.

This year, they moved the location and it was decided to be held in Gruene Tx. How fun! Just a fun little town. We all got to vote what we wanted to do, decided if we were going to ride the charter bus, or even if we wanted to go or had time to go, work load permitting. I am shocked at how many people didn't attend this year, but I thought it sounded like a blast. I have a good group of girlfriends here at work that I really enjoy being around. With them along, I thought for sure it would be a good time.

We also had to choose days, split between Monday and Tuesday for coverage there at the office of course. We all picked Monday. Unfortunately one girl couldn't go and one didn't want to go. The 3 of us left chose Monday and got ready to meet that charter bus at 630am Monday morning at work! thats a first! ha! We loaded up and a couple other fun girls went along and we played games on the way up, tried to sing songs and just had a great time on the 2.5 hour drive. We had a little meeting once we got to the lodge and breakfast. It was fun! nothing to serious, just fun and laughs. They ordered us lunch and then it was free time! We chose to go shopping. Some went tubing down the river, which is a freakin blast!!! but not really what i wanted to do in a short amount of time for a work function, however some did do it! We shopped for awhile and then went to the great Gruene Hall! Had some drinks before the bus came back to pick us up at 4pm. We headed back to the house, got our box dinner and loaded back up on the bus back home.

We had SUCH a blast on the ride back home. Of course, we had all been drinking some, so i'm sure we will a little bit more giggly then on the way up. The entire way home we played that game, Never Have I Ever - we laughed so hard! It was seriously such a good time. I'm so glad that I went and had the best time. Oh and I won a visa gift card in a drawing as well. heck yea!

Until next year...... we will be laughing and reminiscing about this trip for awhile. I say it was a great day to be at work and get paid to have a blast!!

Company Picnic

A couple Friday's ago, actually Friday the 13th to be exact, Ryan's company had their company picnic. Since they are such a large company they split it up between regions. Ryans South Texas Region is pretty small. They held it on a Friday this year, because I heard the year before nobody came on the Sunday? who knows. I took the day off work and we went, it was in Freer, Tx.

We left around 9ish, and when we pulled up I was in complete shock, We couldn't even find a place to park! I was expecting the Christmas party crowd from last year. This place was freaking packed. They have it at this little ranch place that is actually really neat. Their are houses you can rent, an outdoor eating/bar area. It was neat. I guess the contracting companies were invited as well, they were having a BBQ cook off. There were people everywhere with their BBQ's and really into. One of Ryans friends was cooking and we hung out there for awhile. We got to sample his BBQ before it went to the judging and it was SO good!! We hung out the entire day, just talking to everyone and then at 6pm they started doing door prizes. They had TONS of stuff. TONS! Of all different types, etc. Tvs, depth finders, yeti ice coolers, gift cards, i mean everything.

Ryan ended up winning a heavy duty flash light and a gift card to Lowes. We left right after. We had a great time. It definitely was an all day event. I'm sure we will be excited to go to it again next year.

Spending money on that?!?!

Our washer went out this past weekend. yay. Buying washer and dryer is like buying tires. Who wants to spend that much money on something like that! Not the first thing we jump up and down to when we find out we have to purchase a new one!
We went to Conns to look and we both were completely out of it. We did not want to buy a new one. Ours was super old, we figured it was best to upgrade....and upgrade both. Washer and dryer. So we did. And I of course had to pick a color. I chose the red ones......that meant I needed to run to Lowes - get paint and redo my wash room before they were delivered. Ryan was less than thrilled for this. Especially because I had the brilliant idea of paint the wash room in stripes....horizontal ones.....with literally no time. Ryan came thru and even went to a nearby town to pick up the special metallic paint that I just had to have! He measured out all the lines.....taped them all for me.......and i got it completed. And............I didn't love like I thought I would. It is a small room, so the dark color makes it even darker, but lets face it....its a wash room. Who cares, right? And I kept telling Ryan the lines didn't have to be perfect....after all, its just a wash room! But I still thought I would love the end result. I can't change it now..Ryan will kill me.

This was a week or 2 ago - turns out...i like it. I have some finishing touches and i need to paint the cabinets black, but i think i like it!!!

Stella!

So remember - I am in LOVE with Stella jewelry! I had a great Stella & dot party a few weekends ago! My girlfriends are so fabulous and I ended up making about $400 Stella dollars for myself and 4 items half off!!! I was SOOO excited. The party itself was so fun, hanging with all my girlfriends, drinking mimosa's - but made it even better at the end when I got to think about everything I wanted to order for virtually free!!! Thanks girls!
Here was my first order! I only had to pay shipping and tax. I still have a little bit of free money left and all my items half off. I LOVE IT all and wear it daily. LAYERING it is what makes it gorg!!!!!

This is reversible

I wear this almost daily. simple. tiny. love.

So, you aren't suppose to let your jewelry touch, its bad for the metals.....or something. This is nice jewelry and I don't want it getting ruined. Right now I pile them all in this tier thingy...so for now - for my stella jewelry - this will have to do until I can buy something practical. its beautiful though!

My girlfriend layers perfectly! This is ALL Stella jewelry! Don't you love!!!
So yes, I have a long list of jewels that I want! One by one. I will get there!! GORG!

Labor Day 2013

We did not make any plans! How crazy for us. Especially no plans to go out in the boat....that is almost unheard of from us!
Ryan was trying to get out of his shop and I was just tired from this past month at work. I was mentally exhausted. Probably why I hardly blogged at all either. It was draining. I was looking forward to cleaning my house and crafting. Omgosh! I sound so old!

Friday when I got off work I met my girlfriend at the craft store and we picked up all the goodies that we wanted to craft. Afterwards we just relaxed at home. Nothing too exciting. Ryan has gone to the Dr earlier that day and he was told that he had pneumonia! perfect. Good thing we didn't have plans.
I stayed up and tried making a burlap wreath from the wire wreath....it is way to thin and skinny - I definitely like the thicker look better! but I made it - and it hangs here for now...I stuck some leopard print ribbon thru it....

Saturday I woke up and rushed to get ready. I had a bridal shower to attend! It was real nice and she got some beautiful things! She actually takes our pictures...well....when we actually take them. We are overly due, but its hard with a bouncy 3 year old! Anyway - she is also my bosses niece! I spent a few hours over there before heading back. Ryan had Bridger so I quickly ran some errands. We put B down for a nap and did a little shopping when he got up. We also went to the Doctor AGAIN! Ryan was moving stuff from his shop when a huge A-Frame metal piece swung around and hit his elbow really hard. it looked horrible!! We went to get xrays - and thankfully - all was good!!!
Waiting at Dr Office with Daddy

love him
We ran by the meat market - and a friend of Ryans came over, they cooked some yummy steaks and watched some football. A little bit later one of my friends and her fiancé came by. I noticed some red bumps on Bridg, but didn't think much of it. He was outside playing so I thought he could've gotten bit easily or something. We went to bed kinda late (for us) and found out the next morning - we went to bed with the garage still open!!! Seriously? We were so exhausted and we just didn't think of the garage being open since we usually always close it. We don't even lock the door to the house from the garage....does anyone actually??? yea, good thing we live in a good neighborhood!! haha! good grief!

Sunday we woke up to Bridger crying at our bed....usually he is in our bed....or trying to climb in the bed. He was sitting on the floor just crying! He said he couldn't walk. We didn't think anything and put him on the bed. I looked to see his spots that I remember he had from the night before and they had spread even more. He was still whining about his leg hurting and not being able to walk. Bridger never cries to just cry over a "owie" he is a pretty hard kid....he can take a lot. We rarely hear him fuss over getting hurt. He ran into the fireplace the nice before and hit his leg on the tile pretty hard - didn't even cry- we thought that maybe that was why he was fussing that morning. I told Ryan we better just call the Doc and get an appt since Monday was a holiday. Why not go to the Doctor for a 3rd day in a row!

We got to the appt and Bridger still refused to walk and was in pain when we moved him. He sat the entire time! Everyone that knows my little man, knows this is a huge deal!!! huge! The Doctor basically said the bumps looked like it was a virus. I remembered he had this once before...at the end of the virus these bumps popped out everywhere! Then they got to moving his legs and we quickly found out it was his hip. He was screaming bloody murder. My poor baby was in so much pain!! He never cries and he was miserable. The doctor told us what she thought it was - an infection in the hip and we were to go to the hospital immediately. Really? I almost started crying immediately. Not because I thought he was seriously hurt - but I was more like, not my sweet baby!! No hospitals!

Waiting for Doctor
We left there and went straight to the children's hospital. right next door! Bridger  begged us to put him in his stroller! Hello!!! Crazy! Again! My child....in the stroller?! Whatever you say baby! We went in and had to go thru admitting...it took awhile, got his sweet little wrist bracelet saying he was a "patient" there. =/ Headed upstairs to give blood. He was not happy with what she was preparing. The minute she stuck him, he lost it. It was the saddest look ever! Like she just totally betrayed him. It took everything I had not to cry. A tear might of slipped. It was so hard seeing him so upset. We left quickly and he got "bandaged" up.
.
We headed upstairs to Xrays and this was hard. Ryan had to hold him down, while I waited behind the glass. =( He was seriously screaming!!! So hard to see. They took them as quickly as they could and he did good for being so upset! We checked out and headed out. We drove around hoping that he would sleep - he was SO SO tired! He did! Once we got home - the 3+ hours it took - he woke up immediately. He refused to go back to sleep. I let him lay on the couch and watch tv...he refused to walk, I gave him some pain meds. Doctor called and all tests came back fine! Thank goodness! But what is wrong with  my baby?! follow up on Tuesday if he isn't better? Oh ok - that's it? I hate that! Like, tell me something to make me feel better....like growing pains possibly, maybe he jarred is when he fell...something! Nothing they tell me. He started getting up and limping around on it later.

We loaded up and tried to go get some "3 year old" pictures of Bridger. I just haven't found a spot that I LOVE. My MIL, SIL and her friends jumped in and we all headed to the beach to try to get some pictures......hello........it is labor day! Why didn't I think of that. Duh! Beach was so packed....we were all like yeah right, this is not going to happen. Dang it. I need to get them so badly - the sun was pretty too! We headed back to Ryans moms, ordered pizza and hung out for the rest of the night. It was a good family night.

sweet

Katelynn and her friends getting Bridger to say "Peace" but hilarious how he did his mouth too!!! We all got a kick out of this. Bridg is just so fun!
Finally! We made it to Monday! Bridger woke up feeling good. We ran some errands and he was walking. Pretty good. Weird. But ok. No doctor appts. I cleaned my house! I love a clean house so much. My girlfriend came over and we crafted what we had bought. Bridger went down for a nap but it took him forever. So in my world - I had a nice long quiet time - and craft time. Ryan worked at the shop all day moving stuff out.

Wood plaques painted. Mod podged pics.....To hang on wall

Our labor day weekend turned out to be great. Hospitals and all. I got to spend it with my family! Bridger is still limping......but not complaining of pain one bit. Not sure what it was, but I think he will be fine.
