Antigua 2011

So this year for our 3 year wedding anniversary we decided to book a trip to Sandals. We know numerous people that have been and given us such great reviews. Since our anniversary is in March - still seems too cool for us, we wanted to make sure it was nice and warm - so the end of April it was or has been in previous years!

Ryan really actually called the travel agent and surprised me with it. We talked about it though and he wanted to make sure that was really where we wanted to go.

We are very pleased with our final decision and honestly can't wait to go to another Sandals in a year or two.

Our trip was quick and not too long - for some reason we have a fear of the "7day" vacation. We had a great time in our 5 days - but we would like to do more next time. We didn't book any excursions and didn't make reservations for the 3 restaurants that require them. Maybe it was the thought of really having to do nothing for days - no routine, no schedule...something we weren't used to. Guess that made us slightly even more laid back.
However ; we met an amazing couple on the airplane ride over that are from Houston! How perfect. We hung with them the entire time and she actually booked one of the restaurants for all us one night. It was great!

Along with Jamison and Kenny, we met several other couples that were just as fun! Most on their honeymoons. Some people would rather stay out of the social scene, but for us - it was awesome getting to be on vacation at an amazing place and meeting such fun people!!

We had such a fabulous time in our 5 days - 2 days in the pool = sunburns and a naps afterwords. Snorkeling, which I didn't do. I didn't like the whole breathing process in that. Takes some getting used to I'm sure....then jet skiing. Fun times. We went to the resort pub each night and a couple of nights there was Karaoke, and they also did fun little things around the resort all day and night.

Besides ALL that fun -  I missed my sweet Bridger bear SO much!! This was the first time I have ever been away from him. The first couple of days were very very hard, although I missed him the entire time. By the 3rd day of being away though - we felt what it was like to be a couple a again - and that's it. It was so nice to focus on each other and have much needed alone time together. It had been 11 months since we had experienced that, and it was great to have it back for 5 days, but I was more than eager to get back home and get my arms wrapped around my boy!

On the way home we had a canceled flight from Miami to Houston. We were pretty irritated and so ready to get home. We had to stay the night and get up the next morning early to head out and be rerouted thru 3 airports to get home!! It was a crazy experience and forced us to really use our patience. Interesting, but glad we made it home!!
