Boat Fun

Last Saturday was another beautiful day. They were forecasting it to be in the 90s and sunny! Seriously?! We we were so excited and made plans to take Bridger out in the boat to a place in Port A called St Joes Island. It is gorgeous water and calm and just a really nice area to hang out at. The day started soo cloudy and windy and kind of chilly. I had a hair appt and ran a few errands. We finished up building the cube storage for Bridger's play room and then loaded up and headed out.

We finally got out around 1. I was so nervous we were going to get rained on and figured the day would be a bust. We started out towards Port A and the sun came out! but it also came with a slight "Cool front" and we had a north wind. We were headed north. It took us forever to get there and of course getting beaten to death in the boat because of the chop. haha. Somehow thru the rough ride, Bridger fell asleep and slept the whole way. Once we got there we saw how it wasn't going to be as pretty as we thought. The north wind screwed up the waves. We turned around and headed back. It was SO pretty out. We stopped so Ryan could fish some, Bridger got out his toys and played and I sat there taking pictures and relaxing in the sun. Bridger requested to go to the "beach" which is of course anything that has sand. We found a nice little sandy area and pulled up for awhile so Bridger could play. He was SO excited. He loves being in the boat and playing in the sand so much. Simply joys for my little man.

We finally headed back around 5. We had a great day on the water, just our little family. Ryan got really sunburned and Bridger got super sunburned despite using sunscreen 3 times! He was so sunburned on his face that it is swollen! Still is. Poor baby. I felt horrible! Bridger was extremely exhausted. Glad we can wear our little boy out so well.

I am hoping that this will be our every weekend agenda. It is so fun having a fun play day out in the sun and boat. Bridger is the perfect age this year and we can take him every time and anywhere. He is a natural like his daddy!

Dinosaurs came to town.....

A couple of weekends ago, the Dinosaur Exhibit came to town! I had just happened to hear it on the radio at work on Thursday I think. It sounded kind of cool. Ryan thought Bridger would be scared but we insisted we still needed to take him and start all these fun little memories for him.

We went Friday after work and it was packed! There were 2 other events going on that same weekend in the same area. It was a madhouse. We managed to make it in and start the exhibit. Bridger was of course scared. He liked them from afar, as long as we didn't get to close he was good. They were huge dinosaurs made up to look real and actually move. They had it really dark with colored lights shining on the dinosaurs. There were loud dinosaur noises playing as well. It actually was kind of scary. haha. They made it kind of like a walk thru. They had an area where you could look for "fossils". They had a souvenir shop, where Bridger picked out a tall dinosaur that was rubber. We were so shocked that he didn't choose a stuffed animal. That is usually what he goes for. They had a play area for the little kids, toddlers. They also had dinosaur's that made up that you could actually get on and ride. There were like 2 others games and then 5 or so huge blow up slides. They were awesome. Bridger was too little for it all. Well, he wouldn't even get close to the dinosaur models so we knew there was no way he would ride the dinosaur.

Saturday Night Dinner Date

Saturday night we met up with some of our good friends for dinner. We were rushing as we had been out in the boat all day.
Our friends we were going with, his sister said she would come babysit for us so we could go to dinner. She didn't get off till 8, then factor in time for her to get to our house, then time for us to get out to the Island for dinner.....it might be really late. We asked Kateylnn to come stay for an hour until Cayla got there.
We were rushing, sunburned and starving! We made it out there to Scuttlebutts and only had to wait about 10 mins before we were all seated. It was good, but not as good as usual. We still had good talks and laughs. We enjoyed ourselves.

We got home around 1015 and that sweet little boy of mine was still up! He has become such a little party animal lately. Wanting to stay up way past his bedtime. We got him to bed and went to bed ourselves. That sun will wear you out!

We actually went to dinner and came home. No going out. Impressive. =)

Sunday Funday!

Today we of course went to church, and ran some errands. This time of year the wind blows like crazy till May, or really thru May. It's terrible and makes for terrible time for anything outside.

Today was no different but it was sunny and so hot. We decided to take a boat ride! We didn't head out till late, but we had a great time, just our little family. Mommy kept herself warm and we headed to the ski canals to just park and hang out. We got positioned in an area where it helped keep the wind cut down.

Bridger and Ryan got out and played in the water. How, I don't know. The water is still soooo cold! I laid out in the boat and would get up and watch my baby boy laugh and play and run back and forth in the water over and over. It was so sweet. He was having such a blast! He literally wouldn't stop moving. Of course, he had no nap so he was trying extra hard to keep himself awake. He had so much fun. Love seeing my baby have the time of his life. I can't wait for the summer when we can take him in the boat every weekend.

This will be the first summer where he is actually old enough to take him places all day long. Yes, he still needs his naps, but it is so different. 2 years old to 3 is such a big difference. I hope this summer will be so much fun for him. We are so excited to take him to do fun stuff!

I Love You

I love this little boy so much. He makes my heart so happy. I feel so so blessed. He is my whole world and I am so happy I am his mommy.

I am feeling extra blessed tonight and my heart is feeling so full!

In 2 months this sweet boy will be 3. I sat and thought back to the beginning of his little life tonight and I can still smell that baby smell, and feel those sweet snuggles we had. I am always shocked by how fast time goes by but I am so happy to see my son so happy and full of joy. He has turned my life into something so amazing. He is so witty and hilarious. He keeps us on our toes and always makes for a fun time.

I am so thankful to have him.

Maybe he will want to potty train by age 3. ;) lol, I'm ok with him doing at his own pace. He dances to the beat of his own drum, and I love that.

I love you sweet Bridgy Bear!

Big boy bed official!

Bridger finally has an official big boy bed! We have gone back and forth on his bed for awhile now. He had the crib that turned into the toddler bed, then the full. We have had it a toddler bed for quite some time now.
At night I can crawl in there and snuggle with him. Not very comfortable, but doable. Ryan isn't able to snuggle with him because he just doesn't fit and he always wants to lay with Bridger.
After much talk and measurements, we figured out that the full bed would just take up too much of his room, that yes, we just finished making it how we wanted and I was not willing to change to a different room now.
His room isn't super tiny or anything, but it is set up so funky. Really not in a good way. We had looked around everywhere and tried to find him the perfect bed. We went everywhere and couldn't decide.

We then had people pressuring us at Ashley's Furniture while my child was running crazy, that doesn't help in the deciding factor. I couldn't focus. I, Of course, also hate being pressured. I can't stand it. We left and that was that. I loved the bed. But I can't do pressure or a wild toddler running everywhere!

Finally Thursday we dropped Bridger off with his Memaw and went to another store! We found a perfect bed. And we were finally done with this nightmare that shouldn't of ever been so complicated! Haha

We went and bought him a few different sheet sets to prepare for bed wets of course. Got him some bedding and set it all up. We are still not finished. I want a cute duvet for his down comforter. And some nautical pillows.

Bridger loves it and has slept great in it. We can lay with him and a snuggle him and it's perfect. My baby is growing up so fast. No more baby crib in our house.

Here is his bed and one side of his room.

Couples Night Out

Last Saturday we planned a couples night out with some friends. There were 8 of us. We tried a new restaurant that Ryan and I never been to, but some of our other friends had, and they loved it! It was suppose to be a very long wait, we ended up showing up a little late as we were waiting on my mom to get to our house to watch Bridger. By the time we got to the restaurant, the buzzer thingy went off and our table was ready. Wow, we planned that perfectly. =)

The food was awesome! We ordered some calamari and it was so delish! I ordered a sushi roll that was super spicy but so good! I have every intention on going back and getting more. Since it was so hot, I started eating some of Ryan's fries and those too were very good. It is the seasoning or something. It was yummy. I am glad we chose that restaurant. They also had a live band playing. It was a fun environment.

After dinner we talked the guys into popping into our old stomping grounds, The Pelican. They did NOT want to go. We convinced and when we pulled in the parking lot it was pretty empty. I just laughed and said this must be the parents time out....9:20pm....yep....no youngins go out that early right?! We were laughing so hard about that. We went in for one drink. It was so dead. A few people in there were cracking us up. We had a good laugh. We all left after that and headed closer to home to one of our favorite bars that is literally by all of our houses. We had a great time there, lots of girl talk, pictures and laughs. We even made it home by 1am!

This also was the time for daylight savings. So I really lost another hour of sleep. Sunday, I was so super tired. I even had to sneak in a nap. I have so much fun on those nights out, but it takes me days to feel like myself again!

We had a lot of fun and I can't wait till we have another night out in a couple months or so!

Lately...

I can't believe how much time as flown by without me posting. I have been major slacking in the blogging world. Now I can't even remember things. oops!

Work is still going good. Still training in the new position. Always busy. That is good. Ryan is still liking his job.

We have booked our next trip! We are headed to Cabo in May. I am super excited to go and have some alone time with my honey. We plan on fishing one day. Our moms will split the time up as they have done in the past. I know Bridger is alot of work and luckily they are willing to split up the time.

We have been working out on a steady schedule. Since Feb 1. Ryan goes to the gyms in the mornings and runs at night. I get up early and do Insanity. I still have 5 weeks left before I complete the full round of it. I'm excited as I haven't ever gotten to the 2nd month of Dvds before. I will complete it in mid April but I will continue doing something every day, especially before our trip! Ryan has been loosing weight and gaining muscle! He is committed and doing great!

Bridger is still Bridger. He is totally funny and a blast to be around. He still makes me laugh, and even more than before. My favorite time with him is at bedtime when I crawl up in his tiny toddler bed with him and we play a few songs he loves on my phone and we just snuggle. I take that time to ask him how his day was, what is going on, etc. We also try to learn some things.....hes still stubborn at that. ha! I just love the sweetest of that time. The smell of him. How he snuggles right up into me. If he isn't snuggling up to me, he wants me snuggled up to him with my face in his neck. It is so sweet. I just simply love this time and never miss it if I don't have too. He never wants me to leave and wants me to stay in his room with him all night. What a sweet boy.

We are getting him a new bed! After much thought and lots of looking around we finally found a bed we like. We haven't gotten yet, but soon. I never wanted him to have a twin, but that is simply what will fit best in his room right now. The way his room is set up isn't very well. I don't want to change rooms because we just finished his room not that long ago! So, twin bed it is. Ive got to fit better in that then in his toddler bed! ha!

We are attempting potty training at a very slow pace. He still has no interest and we don't want to rush him. However, he will be 3 in May! We are trying and we hope it will just "work" one day! ha. This is hard work with a very stubborn boy who is just fine telling us "Change my biper!"

Bridgers attitude is coming in full swing. He really doesn't listen very well and we are finding ourselves repeating everything over and over and over again. It is overwhelming and can old really quick. I don't mind him exploring things and his boundaries, but when we say no, we mean no. This little guy fights us tooth and nail. He now tells me "ill put you in time out mom!" really? back to time out he goes. I think he thinks he rules the house. He calls Taco Bell, Taco Beans.....SUPER cute! He engages in all of our conversations. You have to watch EVERYthing you say. He still acts better with just one of us opposed to both of us. He has now decided that naps aren't cool. He plays in his room for hours. Then we leave the house and out his goes. Those little car naps just aren't enough for the entire day. I don't know why he isn't napping in his room anymore, but clearly he still needs them!

Ryan is looking to sell his personal truck. It is just one more added expense we really could do without. He does use it, but it isn't necessary. He has a work truck that works just fine. We love his truck so much, but we don't need it. Time to simplize our life a little. I hope that we can find a buyer and we really will be ok with the decision! ha!

This little boy is growing so fast and it makes me so excited but sad. This age is so fun! He is a ball of joy and happiness!
