There is something in his nose........

Last Friday I noticed that Bridger had "lots of snot" in his nose. I was changing him and saw it shiney clear up his little nostril. I know he really hates the nose sucker so I thought, eh ill let it work it's way out on its own....

We went about our whole weekend. Sunday came and I was getting Bridger ready for church - I noticed when he layed down to change his diaper that the shiney- clear up his nose....the snot....was still there. I thought it looked odd but why would it?! Kids only have snot up there right? I got the little nose sucker and said sorry my love, and attempted to get that nasty snot outta there! I tried 3 times, by the 3rd time I saw it! It almost came out! I couldn't get it. I jumped up grabbed Bridger and ran to tell Ryan that Bridger had something up his nose....a bb or something it looked like! Hence the shiney I kept seeing. It was metal. He had something metal up his nose! I called my mom and ask her if we should call the doc and get a appt hopefully or go to the hospital(Ryan's idea). I figure if he was ok all weekend with it there we were ok for another hour. I called the doctor. Yes, an appt! No church for us that Sunday morning. I was so excited to go too- I need it. But my baby was FAR more important!

We waited at the doctor for what seemed like forever. Oh and we had a lovely copay of $50 with possibly being charged $30 more later after insurance does their thing. So weird. The doctor was awesome and got right to it with a long super skinny thing with a tiny metal piece at the end of it. She got it out super quick with all of our help holding down my baby. He was scared. But we got it! It was a bead! What the heck?! We have no idea where he got it- we don't own metal beads like that nor does our daycare lady she told us. So he could've found this anywhere, someone could've dropped it at our house or hers. I know it wasn't up there earlier than Friday because I didn't see it and it wasn't infected. Thank goodness!

And also- I have no idea why our little boy would stick that huge bead up his nose! He doesn't usually do things link that. He is very well at keeping things out of this mouth as well. So weird. The doc did tell us that it is so much better to get "bigger" things stuck up there than smaller which causes more serious problems and maybe surgery. We have kept telling B to keep things out of his nose! Haha. Oh boys!

New favorite spot

We thought it was suppose to rain all weekend so we didn't make alot of plans and kind of played everything by ear. We ran some errands Saturday morning and then the sun came out! We decided to go out in the boat for some fun! Bridger was lacking a nap but I didn't think that it would be a big deal. He was being so good. Once he heard that we were going in the boat and we put his swimsuit on he was so excited and we couldn't keep him still! He kept saying "go in boat, go fassss(fast)".

We loaded up and got some lunch and headed out! It was so hot and humid....so being out in the boat was really nice! I wasn't sure where we were headed but we are always all for it and  up for the adventure! Bridger loved sitting in the front of the boat (the windiest part) and he just soaked it up every second. It is so precious to watch him. He really enjoys it so much, he and his daddy are going to be quite the pair!!!

Ryan took us down towards the cabin (not even half way though) and stopped at this sandy place that he has stopped at as a kid before. Nobody was down there and it was perfect!! A lot of sand and shallow pretty far out. Bridger had a blast exploring and playing. We built sandcastles, dug mots, and all hung out together. We played in the water....and he was crawling around in the water..it was cracking me up. He wasn't walking and had no need to "float" he wanted to crawl in the water. He had his life jacket on and it was funny to watch.

The clouds started rolling in and we decided it was time to head out. We got back and was walking in the door right when the rain started! Perfect timing! Bridger didn't sleep the whole way home and didn't have a nap at all, until he finally went to bed at 8pm! What a big long day for my little boy!! He had a blast and told me he had so much fun! That melts my heart.

Wait for me........

This little guy never wants to leave the boats......he always wants to be out on them....and, he loves to go FAST! This last statement is a request often heard lately. What a fun little boy we have!!

Introducing......

Sweet baby Karsen! (I don't know middle name yet!)

7lb 8oz and a sweetheart.

He arrived 2 weeks early just like his older brother did! I went to visit him and he was so sweet!!! I snuggled him, rocked him and had little talks with him. He would hold his head up and look around! What the heck!? It was so crazy! What a strong little boy already! Mommy and baby are finally home and doing great. I can't wait to see this little guy grow up and play with his older brother Kyler.

Scared

This little boy is so scared of the car wash!! He likes to hide his face in his blanket. I go often, (I can't stand a dirty car) so he is getting used to it more....here he is when the soap is getting splattered on the car....its colorful and pretty looking. He likes it.....

Then the big things started that wash the car and he was so scared!! haha! I have to laugh at him everytime...he should know by now how it works and what is coming up next.

***************************************

His new thing in the bath....he likes to put his head in the water and kick his feet in the water as fast as he can.

Holday time....

I love love this time of year!!! It is my all time favorite, the smells, the holidays, the cooler weather, the leaves changing, the family time, the best feeling of giving, cooking, it is just so warm and welcoming!! I wish we had season changes here, even in Beaumont we had more of  season then here in Corpus. I still love it however.

I also love dressing my kiddo up in all the holiday wear. I love seeing all the other kiddos stressed up in holiday wear. I admit - I go overboard and buy him way too many shirts for each holiday, but how do you not? It is so cute and I feel like it puts them in the mood also! Boys clothing lacks alot of cutest and quantity, but I manage! I have already gotten him over 5 shirts for Halloween! love!

I also order jammies, of course! Anyway I started getting my stuff in the last couple of weeks that I ordered online....

These are from Gymboree

and these are from the Gap

Here is my sweet boy wearing his new spider jammies! He was so excited to wear these! It was so adorable. I love him in holiday jammies so much!!

Decision making

How is it that my kid is old enough to make decisions about what he is wearing now? Last week we had a incident that he wanted to wear his swim suit and rash guard to school, luckily I was able to talk him out of it.

Not this morning. Yesterday we did good and he wore a Halloween shirt with spiders on. He loved it! This morning when I turned his light on and opened his door to get him to start stirring, I noticed he was up on the monitor and I heard drawers closing. I walk in there and sure enough, he had already pulled out his swim suit again with even the matching rash guard! He was not being talked out of it today.......so I said what the heck. Pick your battles right. He wanted to wear it, so I let him. haha. Thankfully his daycare is a home daycare and she just laughed when we showed up. My silly little boy. He melts my heart.

His daycare lady also just got a turtle, I don't know what kind, but it sits outside in this built up flower bed area she has. Bridger was so excited to show me this "toytle" I talked to him later about it and he even told me his name was popeye! haha, I don't think that is right - I need to ask Dora. Funny boy.

We practiced his shapes and numbers again tonight. He did good, but he refuses to practice his colors! Maybe Ryan is right and he is color blind? haha, I don't know. But he will not repeat the colors or even try to look at them. One thing at a time. He loves playing anything on my phone with Elmo too! I need to find some more Elmo apps.

We will wait to see what happens tomorrow morning. After this bath tonight he tried to put his rash guard back on again! haha! Tomorrow might be interesting. More decision making and picking battles, I'm ok with that.
I just can't get enough of my sweet boy lately. I miss him so much during the day and am always eager to go pick him up. He lights up my world and is perfect. I decided to sneak in some christmas shopping last night with my mom at the mall. Bridger decided that this was one of those nights that he did not want to corporate. He didn't want to shop. bummer.
We walked to the cookie factory thinking I could get him his favorite cookie that daddy always gets him and he would sit still better. As soon as I pushed his stroller up to the cookies, his spotted his daddys, A m&m double doozie and he yelled, "der's daddy's ookie Mama!" haha, wow - this is hilarious and sad all in one. What a cutie! We got some cookies and tried to leave. However Bridger decided that he wanted Daddys cookie this time. Oh boy! Not what I was imagining...and all that frosting...yikes! SO - build-a-bear was next door! Wala! The cheapest bear they have is $10! I can do that. He got a cute little puppy with a white patch on his eye. He watched the guy stuff it so intesensly - it came time for him to get the dog and I was able to manage a switch! cookie for dog kid! hehe! It worked! However- his happiness didn't last the rest of our shopping trip - I managed to hurry and pick up a xmas present for Ryan and 2 fabulous pairs of shoes at Dillards, um, for myself!! I love sales!!
When we left we gave daddy a call on speaker phone to see when he would be home. Unfortunately not till late - Bridger actually talked with Ryan on the speaker phone in the car! He never wants to!! Ryan asked him questions and bridger would answer with his sweet, "yesh" he then preceeded to ramble on about something else. Ryan then told him I would take him to McDonalds...ouch, how do you say no to that? My little one was waiting for some fries!

Watch your doors....

Last week Ryan was working overtime and wasn't getting home till late every night. It was just Bridger and I all week. We did good and kept him on track and on his routine. We even went to Walmart and he did exceptional! I was shocked!! I had a great time hanging out with my little man.

I have been super busy getting the spare bathroom together and how I want it. (Still not done either). I had been cleaning all up the upstairs and started on that spare bath......all of a sudden I heard our bedroom door slam shut, I booked it around the corner and saw that Bridger was on the outside of the door - good! Then I went to go open it and it wouldn't budge....yep - what I have always been afraid of....he locked it!!! I got onto him and told him that wasn't nice, etc. I felt so bad....he ran to the corner, covered his eyes and made the sweetest face ever! I hurt his feelings! Poor baby. I called him over to me and loved on him and told him it was ok....accidents happen. But don't do that anymore. haha. Some of our doors have locks, some don't.....kind of thinking we don't need any locks! I would be freaking out if he locked himself in the room! We finished some things, ate dinner and it was time to bathe him....oh yea! He locked my door. shoot! I called Ryan and asked him how to pick the lock! ha. He does it and is good at it but I have no clue...he tried to walk me thru it but it didn't work. Finally I just decided to take the door handle off!!  Wala! Got the door open and got a good laugh about it. He is such a sweet boy and felt so bad for locking it..he kept trying to help me open it and held my water for me as I tried to unlock it. Silly boy. I'm glad I was able to fix the problem as daddy didn't get home till super late!!! I was happy I got to sleep in my own bed! =)

Smart Boy!

I recently downloaded some fun toddler apps onto my phone for Bridger. I never did before because honestly I didn't want him playing on my phone, throwing my phone, or whatever else. He is only 2! Nothing gentle comes with the sound of that.

I had a conversation with his daycare lady and she has been working on colors, shapes, etc. with the kids. Bridger is so stubborn he doesn't want to sit and learn. No surprise there. She wants to start potty training him and Charlie at the same time...but Bridger is just showing no interest! So learning his colors or shapes or sounds isn't something I think he would do great with either...and he doesn't. After talking to her I realized I needed to try harder at home too! I've never been into pushing Bridger with anything like that. He is such a SMART boy but I don't like to pressure. (I think that stems from my owning dislike to pressure). BUT pushing your child to learn to do something isn't a bad thing.

SO - I downloaded around 6 learning apps to my phone. I let him play with it some the other day in Hobby Lobby - but he doesn't really understand how to maneuver the phone correctly. So, tonight we laid in bed and played with every app that I had downloaded. Bridger did amazing!!! He was stubborn and didn't want to practice his colors - but I asked him where the heart was, and he knew! coincident? Maybe. These apps repeat the shapes over and over and over....numbers over and over, etc. I think it helps!!! He heard animal sounds, saw animals, learned objects.... He had a blast and would giggle with such enthusiasm! I loved it. We were learning while having so much fun together. I think I know what we will be getting him for Christmas.....Ive heard some great things about the leap pad 2- I need to do some research, but it sounds great!

Today when I picked him up from daycare he kept mumbling something and I was gathering his stuff up. Finally I see a little girl pop around the corner and he said "Bye Anna!" with a little wave. It was so cute to see him interact with another kiddo his age, to know to say goodbye. He is a sweet friend.

Our Family Pictures 2012

Back in the beginning of June we took some family pictures mixed with Bridger's 2 year pictures. It didn't go great - Bridger didn't nap that day like I wanted him to and ended up falling asleep on the way out to the beach to take pictures. We of course had to wake him up  - he was not happy!

We preceded to take some pictures but he didn't want to smile or play or have fun. He wanted to be attached at his daddy's hip! He didn't even want to play with the balloons that we brought! As the session progressed he warmed up a little more......just a little.

Last time we had pictures made, I think she took about 85...this time she got around 30. That's how difficult he was being. It was entirely too hot out too! It wasn't a good time for pictures. I figured summer time would be a good time for beach pictures....not so much. BUT we went, we did and now we have some pictures! These have been picture snapped on my iPhone from her website and then cropped...so quality isn't as good. I just haven't pictures the CD yet....but I will. So - here are our pictures. My little boy was a toot and it shows thru - but these are the awesome memories we will always have.....with one simple picture.

Just a few for now.....

I love seeing my baby love his grandparents so much!! He may be a stubborn little fireball - but boy does he have a heart of gold! And when he is ready to give out his love - it is always in an enormous way. He is such a sweet little boy. I love that about him. He can accidentally bump into me or hit me with something as he is being wild - he takes that extra step - stops and says "I sorry mama!" and repeats it until I respond back to him. What a angel!

Loving on his Memaw! So Happy to see her!

He lets me kiss him a million times a day. I can't help it. but he lets me. The excitement he gets when he sees his daddy after days of him being gone working is the absolute best sound! He squeals and gets so giddy! I know Ryan loves it.

Somehow more recently spiders have gotten brought up...I don't know how or why. But he looks at different things - such as a speck on the floor and calls it a spider. My most favorite thing to do to him is tickle his neck and say "the spider is gonna get you!!" he giggles SO loud and so hard. He has such a different laugh and to me it still sounds so "babyish" - I love that. It is exactly the same sound from when he was a baby! I'm not sure when it "starts to sounds older" but I love hearing those sounds....sounds of laughter, love and life!!! The spider talk does it every time!

We are taking him down to the cabin for the first time this weekend. First time in a boat that long and first time down to the cabin. We are only going for the day to see how he does. I imagine that he will love it as much as his daddy - but he is still a little young, but we will see. This is like our little test. I'm excited to take him.

Lately when I get Bridger out of his bath - he wants me to sit and snuggle him with all his blankets while he is still in his towel - I'm not sure where this came from but I take full advantage of this! I love it! I snuggle him as tight as I can and as close to me as I can. Sometimes we sing songs, sometimes we just talk or play and giggle together. Bath routine use to be so sweet and short - now it is so long and sweet! =) It takes a good hour to bathe and finally get down to bed. I don't mind one bit. Sometimes I even get kisses and we read books too! I'm so lucky!

A Harris Life....full of boats

So it is finally official! We have a running boat. I'll be honest and say that I am excited! Since we lived in Beaumont for 5 years.....we didn't really "need" a boat of our own...we couldn't go out in it whenever we wanted because we weren't just 5 minutes from the water. We moved back and now - a year later....we have a running boat. This is great news.

Ryan and I had been dating for 2.5 years before we moved to Beaumont. In those 2.5 years most of our days and weekends were spent in a boat. We went fishing all the time, leisure boat rides, fun times at the ski canals, trips to the cabin - any and everything in a boat! Even going to the bars!
He is a Harris! They always have boats and more than 1! haha....however....they don't always run. Those first 2.5 years were great memories for us. We had a blast. there was a time we were living with him mom right after his dad passed away to help out with his little sister - and every weekend we would jump up - look out the window at the weather and water....put on our swimsuits and head out! The boat practically stayed in the water at the end of the pier. It truly was a great time.

Fast Forward....9 years later - we have a kiddo so of course things will be different...but how fun for Ryan and Bridger! Bridger is getting older and Ryan is very excited to start taking him to do things with him. Now - that we have a boat done it makes it that much easier for Ryan!

As I said before- he is a Harris! They have numerous items of the same concept. In fact- we have 5 boats i think, and this boat that is done - is actually his friends with our motor on it. So our 5 boats still sit and wait for Ryan to work on them and get them hopefully sold and gone. Ryan really enjoys doing things like this. Boat work, motor work, improving something and making it run. This boat gave them a hard time but in the end - he figured it out and it works! And this is just in time for the upcoming hunting season too! great. Kidding - I may just be slightly jealous as I can't go on those trips because we have Bridger now. I used to really enjoy those as well. But Bridger is getting older and will soon get to be part of many adventures in the boat....and that's just what they are - adventures.

This boat is just a flat bottom so we won't be doing any offshore trips...or I hope not! ha. It works perfect for our "day out in the boat" trips or cabin trips. They painted is really pretty. The center console needs to be painted....badly, and they will be doing that soon! (I Hope!) Once it is finished it will look like a brand new boat! I am thinking the dark blue that is on the bottom would look great. we will see! This isn't a very good picture, but all I have right now.

The day that Ryan fixed it - I was out of work early as it was our "Ocean Days" Retreat for work and I came home a bit early so we left and got Bridger and took the boat for a ride. It was SO nice! Love being on the water and so does my mini Ryan - Bridger. Daddy even let him steer the boat with telling him this way or that way - Just a little bit - and he did it! it was so adorable! I imagine when Ryan was little this was exactly how he was. I love it.

Checking out Daddy's splatter!

Loving Life!

Daddy's helper!

I got this Daddy - I'll turn on the motor!

Let's put this back on the motor.....

Tired of his life jacket...sorry buddy....many many more years

My little boater!
