Daddy made it home!

Ryan finally got a break from work at got home today at 5. Bridger and I were out shopping, which by the way, I don't think I can take this little boy to Toys R Us anymore...he was horrible!!
We made it home right after daddy and Bridger was so excited to see him! He loves his daddy so much....he was so surprised to see him and started playing with him immediately!

He had some daddy time and we loaded up and headed out to eat. We called his mom to meet us but she didn't want to, so instead she offered to keep Bridger while we went.

It was nice to have a dinner with my husband, and a dinner where we could actually talk and not have a screaming baby throwing stuff on the ground, although we love taking him with us. We ate at a restaurant just down the street and enjoyed a couple drinks and some seafood. I can't wait till he is home more often so we can do this regularly! [except with Bridger of course! =)]

Bridger had a great time with his Memaw and played a bunch!! We showed up and he was laughing hysterically and playing with his aunt Katelynn. I could tell he was so tired and he was in that funny mood....he was pretty happy and wouldn't stop for one minute!

We chatted for a bit and headed home to get ready for the work week, and of course getting Ryan ready to get up and head out at 3am again! I have no idea when this job will end, but I know I can't wait...we have some things coming up this next month and I hope we don't have to cancel or I don't have to go without Ryan.

Luckily tomorrow I get off work slightly early and Bridger and I head to the airport to pick up mom and Jamie! They have been in Oregon since last week and I know that Bridger will be thrilled to see his grandma! I know they had a great time, but I will be happy they are home too!

Here is to another week! Last week of September, where in the world did summer go? And September seriously felt like it lasted a week. I'm excited for the fall, it is my most favorite time of year!
Oh and all day today, Bridger has been saying "Ut Oh"! It is too cute!

Shopping

Today Bridger and I had a shopping date with a friend of mine, Malori and her sweet baby boy, Kyler. I think that both of us go to the mall every week....if not once, than more! We love to shop, we love to get great deals and we have alot of the same taste!

I had a great time and it was fun finding cute things and catching up with girl talk. I was able to get one of my best friend some cute items for her little girl that is due Dec 26th. I also got Bridger a couple of things and I got some shoes. Shoes...again...what is wrong with me! I do not need anymore shoes and yet I still find them and purchase them. I don't try to look for any...but always wind up with some. It is usually at Dillards...I love everything about Dillards. They have amazing sales, and a huge shoe selection at great prices. I got some cute Gianni Bini flats that I justified buying with the fact that during the winter...I can't wear flip flops, and need closed toe shoes. At least I got them for a great deal at $25! My kind of shopping!

Bridger did ok, just a typical Bridger. I actually had to pull out my very last "distraction" today. I always have it on back up, but usually never have to use it. BUT we had a screaming baby boy, nothing helped, nothing distracted, nothing was working. He was embarrassing me.... Dum Dum sucker came out and was pure happiness with this sweet baby. I hate giving him these suckers, because for 1, they aren't really good for you(or his teeth!) and I don't want to always be giving in with "treats" but he also makes an entire mess of them!! Stickiness everywhere!!! At least it worked, and I don't have to do this often.

Kyler was amazing....never heard a peep from him. He is seriously one of the best behaved babies I have ever seen! he is always happy and in a good mood! Cracks me up how well he behaves...24/7, seriously! =)

Last night Katelynn and her girlfriends came over after the game and stayed the night. I enjoy having them over and crack up at the things they come up with. I'm just glad that she is willing to hang with her SIL on a weekend night!

Ryan was suppose to come home tonight, but no such luck, I was really looking forward to it, I haven't seen him in what seems like forever. I miss him and am so bummed he isn't coming home! =( This past week alone, he worked over 110 hours! That is seriously insane! Sometimes when I talk to him he says the funniest things that make NO sense at all, it confuses me...than I remember the lack of sleep......he is delirious! With the no coming home tonight, means not being off tomorrow either, just sucks! Praying this job gets done soon so we can get our daddy back!

Work is still going good, but I still haven't really adjusted. Its not that I don't like it, its not that its horrible, its just different. It just takes some getting used to. I'm not used to it yet. I'm not "loving" it yet. I like what I do, but it is all the other stuff that I'm trying to get used to. I really miss my girls from beaumont though! Work was so much fun with them and we would seriously laugh every single day, real long drawn out belly laughs! The laughing until your stomach hurts and your eyes are watering... I miss that! We email and text often, but still not the same. I'm sure I will develop relationships like that here too, but I can't help but miss that and them!! It will get better, and I'm not coming up with an ending opinion for at least another month! Than we will see!

I have also noticed I have not been taking very many pictures. Usually I take tons and only upload some of my favorites....since moving here, I rarely take pictures. I can't explain it, but its weird. I am making a promise to myself to change that! I need to document this fun time with my little one and also get back into taking video of him! He is so fun!

Can't believe tomorrow is already Sunday. Wish we had one more day! =) OHH and this morning while at Home Depot Bridger went to fuss and I caught a glimpse inside his mouth (he never willing lets me look) and saw he has some molars coming in!!! At least I think they are molars...they are way in the back, im a bit confused because I thought they came in last....he only has 6 other teeth....but maybe not or maybe im wrong and they aren't molars, BUT the teeth have pushed through the surface and are coming up! No wonder I have had a cranky butt on my hands!!

Food!!!

I can not keep enough food in front of Bridger. He is constantly eating....this little boy is going to have a huge tummy!! =)

I gave him a hamburger for the first time tonight and he LOVED it! In fact, he ate the entire thing! I think he might of loved the hamburger more than the chicken nuggets.
Precious baby boy!!!

Busy...but not sure how

Ever since we moved here, we haven't really gone out and done things like we used to always do in Beaumont, we were always on the run and always going someplace. We were never home. But, I guess we haven't gotten back into that routine since Ryan is rarely home. Somehow, I still feel like Bridger and I are always busy and I don't have enough time to get everything done in the day! I used to even work out every night, and can't seem to fit that back into my schedule again. What up with that!?!

I love this babys eyelashes! He has such amazing eyes!!!

I guess one major down fall is that I don't get home till 5:45 - 6:00pm. Bridger takes bath at 6:30. Most nights we go for wagon rides, or go across the street to my moms to eat or let Bridger play and be out of the house. After dinner, bath and bed. I have dishes...dog duty, and pick up of the house. Than of course I am still updating the house...painting...decorating ,etc. Also, I want my "alone" time of sitting on the computer looking at blogs or browsing Facebook for no good reason. Its boring, but I still do it. So, where in there do I fit in working out.....or even updating my own blog? OH and all by being in bed by 9. It doesn't happen.

Somehow I need to move things around and fit running and working out back into my schedule. I can't wait to be done with painting. I love painting....but it takes up so much time! I still have 4+ rooms/areas left. I will get there!!

So for exercise, I am walking the stairs at work. It is awesome. I work on the 12th floor so I have plenty to walk. Also - no more gummy worms! Those things are addicting!

Bridger and I spend our weekends with grandma, usually shopping and running errands. Every day is different with B, sometimes he is so good and others, he is terrible.....screaming and embarrassing me!

Ryan is finishing up this job out of town.....I can't wait until he is done and can come home...or at least lets hope he can come home. He is completely stressed out and working his tail off! Last night he didn't sleep for over 24 hours! And still - he drove home this afternoon and has been sleeping. Hope he can have a couple days off after this job is done. We will just be happy to be a family all together again!!!

Halloween is coming and I have no idea what Bridger is going to be. A lot of the costumes I have seen have some sort of hat that Velcro's under the chin, there is no way Bridger will wear that! Ryan hasn't really been here for us to go look together and decide, but I am excited to get him something and take him trick or treating! Although I don't see it going well, but I'm still excited!
I have already gotten him 7 Halloween shirts and 4 Halloween jammies, there is something about kids and holiday wear...I am obsessed. I think it is just adorable! As soon as October gets here I think that i can finally break it all out and finally decorate for Halloween/Fall! My FAVORITE time of year!!

I can't believe that my baby is only 9 days away from being 16 months. I swear next time I blink he will be 2. They really do grow so fast. He is so independent and head strong. I love everything about him, sometimes he is hard to handle, but I wouldn't want anything less. He has been pitching more and more trantrums lately, and all I can do is ignore him. I tried to understand what he was wanting, but it would make him even more angrier.
He gets so mad that he pinches me as hard as he can and makes the meanest face. Than he pulls my hair. I think he has a hard time expressing his frustration and anger. ha.
I have been getting him to say more and more words everyday. Currently, my favorite is turtle...or in Bridgers words - "durdle". Its the cutest thing!! He always ends every word with a high pitch. He is trying to learn how to drink out of a cup and is doing very well! He likes his food on his plate or bowl and if you hand it to him first, he will put it on the plate first, than eat it.

I am still loving his daycare, actually even more. I finally looked at their daily schedule posted outside the room the other day, and I love how detailed it is. They write everything down, and are seriously doing something every 30 mins. They do so many activities, teach songs, bible study and chapel. They go for stroller walks and play in the gym or outdoors. They haven't given any to us, but I have seen some arts and crafts they have done sitting to the side. I am hoping they give us parents those eventually, I seen Bridgers very first finger painting! They do different activities to practice hand and eye coordination..and so much more. I could go on and on...I have even noticed since being in daycare, he now constantly sits down and grabs one of his books and "reads" it. I know they do a circle story time, but he is always pulling out books at home now!!
He does cry every morning, and I am not sure where it is coming from. Maybe becase the other little boy cries? Hopefully he out grows this crying soon!

So we are still around, busy busy, but with nothing too exciting to explain the chaos! =)

2011 work retreat

So I just started at Swantner and Gordon a few weeks ago and got lucky timing and was able to attend the 2011 Higginbotham Retreat in Port Aransas held at Cinnamon Shore. Higginbotham and Swantner merged in 2009. They are growing and merging with more companies in hopes to become one of the largest agencies in the nation.

This retreat is something they do every year and this was the 1st year that we were able to attend. People from all the agencies that are part of Higginbotham joined and was broken into 2 separate days. We had a guest speaker, Susan huston and she was great. It was all about basically etiquette and dressing correctly and how you present yourself. We were able to mingle and meet other people from the different agencies. They provided lunch afterwards and than it was a "free" day. A few of us went into Port A and did some shopping, than came back and hung by the pool....which was an amazing infinity pool. Pictures do no do it justice.

They had coolers full of alcohol and it was seriously just play time for us all. Some went to the beach, some went to the pool, while others shopped or left for the day. They asked us to stay till 5, so I did. Meeting new people and just enjoying the island life.

I will definitely be looking forward to this next year....if they do it again.

A lot of the people coming in were from out of town and they call stayed on the property. The main house was amazing....they way they were all decorated and set up. I LOVED!!! Basically Pottery Barn sytle...maybe it was Pottery Barn. It was beautiful and definitely made me want to rent one for the weekend with friends and family. Here are some pictures of the main house they rented and we hung out at...It was very big, so these are just really a few pics of the house.

Here is one of the bedrooms that I LOVE!!!

And the kitchen....

and of course the boardwalk

Overall, it was a great time!!! I really enjoyin and meeting more people....learning about the compay, which by the way- I learned, with all the agencies they merged with....we at over 500 employees! Wowsers! Pretty awesome! We all had a great time!

Confirmed!

I took Bridger to the doctor today and he confirmed that he does indeed have Hand, Foot & Mouth. I feel so bad for him, he has some bad blisters on his feet and in his mouth. I don't remember him having such bad blisters last time he had this. I know all cases can be different, and this time is definitely different. He is very uncomfortable and I can't blame him.

While we filled out paperwork and waited to be called back Bridger had numerous breakdowns in the waiting area. I was so embarrassed! All I could do is apologize to everyone there. He had full on tantrums...his newest is throwing his body down on the floor and banging his head on the floor...which is not good on tile. I couldn't do anything and had to just sit and watch him throw these tantrums. If I picked him up he went full mode crazy arms...pull my hair out, hitting me and kicking me. It was terrible. Usually he is such a good boy, but it was his nap time and nothing fun going on in the room...nevertheless...he was a very bad boy and I hated watching every moment of it.

Doctor doesn't want Bridger going back to daycare till Monday...eek! I just started this job and now have been out basically all day yesterday and today. Luckily my mom gets off early on Friday's and is going to watch Bridger for me so I can at least go in for half a day. I think they are pretty understanding and I hope I am right, there wasn't anything else I could do. And that would be my luck. Most people with babies understand exactly how it is..you can't plan when they get sick, or anything for that matter.

Fortunately I was able to get alot of work done at home being off of work. Last week things seemed to get put aside since it was my first week back and we were trying to get into our own schedule that worked. I have gotten alot done in the past 2 days! phew! We even managed to do a little shopping for some cute Halloween/fall decor.

Although I hate missing work, Ive enjoyed being at home and spending time with my sweet little one again! Can I please work part time?!?! =)

Lately

So today I am home with Bridger. This past weekend he hardly slept at all at night, which usually he sleeps through the night. He was fussy and just whining non stop. I figured it could be teething or maybe just a little bug he maybe got from daycare. Monday night he hardly slept! I got a total of 4 hours of sleep.....he couldn't stop crying and wanted to be held.....getting up thru the night on and off.....finally we got to bed when Daddy was getting up at 3am to get ready for work. It was rough.

When I picked him up Monday afternoon I had a note about a child in daycare having Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. My light bulb than came on....yep that's what he has. I remember from when he got in Beaumont months and months ago. They said as long as the little sores on his hands aren't "pustule" he could attend daycare. I was sad to know that he was in pain but felt a little relief that I finally knew a possibility of what it could be.

I got a call today at work in the morning. Bridgers little sores were getting worse and spreading. Luckily my work was understanding and allowed me to leave. We don't have a doctor here in Corpus yet, so I had to call all around and find someone that would take a new patient ASAP. Tomorrow we have an appt...although it is viral and there isn't anything they can give for it....I still need to get a note from doctor stating that is indeed what it is before they will let him come back.

With Bridger feeling under the weather, and starting back to work...I am kind of worn out. It was nice to have the day off today to catch up on alot of things around the house.

Daddy is still working out of town and comes home a couple days a week just for the night. We love it and enjoy getting to spend some time with him. This job should last a few more weeks and than we will see what will be next on his schedule. I am hoping something close to home.

Work is going good. I am in training and learning alot. There isn't really much except that its going! =)

Our Labor Day weekend wasn't anything big and exciting, but I really enjoyed the 3 days off. Ryan had to work thru Sunday since Monday was a holiday and they didn't want them working. My mom and I went shopping and hit up all the labor day sales Saturday and I scored on 3 new pairs of shoes! I love shopping! Ryan was lucky and got off early Sunday and headed home. We had a couple friends come over, and Katelynn and her girlfriends came and stayed again. We all stayed up entirely too late!! We got up early and got the girls some tacos and relaxed. We always love having all the girls and so does Bridger! The rest of time we spent just hanging out as a family, shopping a little and enjoying our time with Daddy!

I can't believe this week is almost over, but how wonderful! Here is my sweet boy a couple nights ago.

New Daycare

As far as Bridger and his daycare go - it is going very well!! I went with a church daycare....originally this was what I had in mind when he was born but nothing in Beaumont offered full time care. Once moving here I called so many and got as much information and possible for so many daycares around town. Of course they are all more money down here, but this one I found isn't too much more and its at a church! Perfect! The first couple of days I dropped him off he cried, by this friday morning....he didn't even care if I told him bye. What a big boy!

This daycare does daily fun activities with the kids. They learn and practice, attend chapel twice a week and everyone seems so nice!! Very professional compared to what I am used to. They have so many toys, and give Bridger great reports daily. I know they said that they do chapel twice a week and are learning the bible. As time goes on, I can't wait to see what else they are learning and what activities they are doing. I hope he loves it as much as he seems to, and as much as I do!

This Friday when I picked him up, he had a "homework" assignment in his cubby. I was like..woah...what is this. It was a half poster board with a note stating to have it completed by Tuesday with pictures and info about himself. Basically, a Bridger board! I thought that was so cute. I wasn't expecting to do things like this, but honestly I was very happy to see them doing activities like this.

I have started working on his board and have gotten way more into it than I thought I would. Luckily my mom had tons of scrapbook stuff and I have definitely used plenty of it!

I am hoping next week goes just as good as this week!

New Job

I haven't posted anything on my new job yet!

The 2nd week we were here in Corpus I got a call to interview at an insurance agency here in town. I went, I felt a little bit overwhelmed, but was excited. I got called back for a 2nd interview, and received the job the following monday. This was my first week of work! Complete! I couldn't wait to work, but it has been hard that I am not with Bridger all day anymore. I miss him like crazy, we had such a great schedule together!

I got a job as Project Administrator at Swantner & Gordon Insurance Agency. I have been training all week and will continue some next week. I will have to obtain my license for commercial lines for this position, basically any position there. It is a very big insurance company here in Corpus. This office alone there are over 70 people. It will take me forever to remember all of them! They are in a high rise bank building and we are spread out over the entire top floor!! Great views of the Corpus Christi Bay.

So far it has been good. Definitely different than my past insurance employer. The size alone is crazy. They have a lot of company moral and do many inner office things. They try and I think it is neat. I am not sure I love working downtown....but hey, its a job. I will get used to it and grow to love it like my last job I am sure. It is just b/c it is new to me and I am not comfortable yet. Hopefully it won't take me too long.

I hope this goes well and I get settled in soon with my new job!!!

Night out

Last weekend we were lucky enough to get a night out! Since Ryan has been working so much, he really enjoyed getting out and relaxing. Katelynn was so sweet and said she was coming over to see Bridger, so she and 5 of her friends, decided to babysit and all came over! Bridger was already in bed, so their "babysitting" duties were extremely easy! =) They are awesome girls and Bridger loves them all! It was so sweet of all of them to come and stay the night with B so we could go out with some friends! We love them!!

It was our friends 30th birthday! We met up with a couple of friends and hit the town. We ate some dinner and headed downtown. Ryan and I haven't been out "downtown" in so long..years and years. We bar hopped some, but had fun! We ran into some people we knew...(go figure) and people we haven't seen in so long! I'm sure it is like this everywhere, but you seriously can't go anywhere without running into somebody you know!

We had fun and went to bed entirely too late. The next day was a little bit slow...We didn't feel the best. And we all even took naps at the same time! I am so glad that we don't do this all of the time...I wonder how I used to go out all the time....hangovers suck.  Maybe I'm just old.
