Obsessed

I am obsessed with taking pictures of my sweet baby boy. I suppose it isn't a bad thing - and I can't help but share. We have so much family afar. I wish I would've taken as many in the beginning of his little life as I do now. I thought I was obsessive back then....but nothing compared to now and especially with the newer better amazing camera.

I used to think, really, one picture of a newborn looks just like every other picture of a newborn....why...because they don't do anything but sleep! BUT for a mother, they are not all the same.I know that. Each picture is different and special in its own way.
This blog is really like my journal, a way to document Bridger's milestones. pictures of him growing. funny quirks. important things going on in our life. silly things. It is for us. And I love how you can have a book made of your blog whenever you want! year by year. certain months. etc. how fun! I wish I would've started the the moment I had Bridger. better yet, the moment I became pregnant. He might not enjoy it as much as I will one day. But I'll have it. just in case.

11 Months old

3 days old

6 Days old

1 week old

Babys hand is still "healing" poor thing.

2 weeks!

So I guess my newborn pictures are different. wish I took twice as many as I did. He was so little and precious! His tiny head fit in our hands. not anymore. precious.

Packing

I have been packing this past week and I am wore out! It is truly amazing how much crap you can accumulate over time! Definitely a TON more than when we first moved up here 5 1/2 years ago! I have been trashing lots and it feels great!

I have now packed around 17 boxes and am probably not even half way packed! It is tiring and very hard to make some of these things fit into a box or wrap safely so they won't get broken. We are getting there and I can't wait till we are 100% complete!!

Tonight Ryan and I loaded up some big stuff on a trailer and will finish off his truck tomorrow morning before he heads back. Since we got some bigger things out of the way, we have a lot more space. We decided to get out Bridgers pop up tunnel thing that his Memaw got him for his birthday. I didn't put it all together, but the main piece we put up and Bridger was going crazy with excitement!!!

We have never seen him so excited before, he was doing his little "evil" laugh...which is really a crazy laugh held in..under his breath....does that make since? He kept doing it over and over again as I was setting it up....it was the sweetest cutest thing. We put the balls in it and he had a blast and played in it for awhile with his Daddy! I'm sure this will be a good "new" toy for him while we finish out our last couple of weeks here in Beaumont.

Once we get it to Corpus and find a place to set it up for him, I would like to buy enough balls to fill the entire bottom! Make it more fun and playful for him! I can't wait till he starts going thru the tunnels that all connect to each other! Here is what it looks like put together!

He also found his boppy pillow that was stored kind of behind the couch. Since finding it he loves sitting in it or laying on it! He gets up, runs around, and goes back to sit in it again. I can't wait to buy him a little chair to sit in, I think he would really enjoy it.

Tonight was a late night and Bridger didn't get to bed till 9ish. He had a late nap and was such a good boy after waking! We played and he actually ate a good dinner while I cooked dinner for Ryan and I. Usually he doesn't eat too much, but I even had to open a can of green beans for him after his finished his meal. He ate every single piece of food I gave him and 2 sippys full of water! What a good little boy!

Today was a friend of ours baby shower for her sweet little Kendal that is due August 24th. Since we are in the process of moving and need to get finished...and Ryan is working down there and coming home on the weekends to take loads back, I will not be in Corpus until our final move. I had to miss the shower. I remember how amazing it is to have people show up and help you celebrate this new perfect life! I'm sad I missed it, but I can't wait to see her in just a few short weeks!! I love all these sweet little babies!

Doctor Appts

This morning I had my annual scheduled and was luckily enough to have Ryan still here to keep Bridger while I ran to the doctor real quick. Thankfully I was a first appointment and I was in and out in no time.

Then I had to make Bridger an appt has he has had diarrhea for a couple of days now, even colored a shade of green. Daycare called about 4pm Monday and asked me to come get him and he isn't allowed back till he is diarrhea free for 24 hours. Well, this morning he still had this colored diarrhea going on. Got into Dr. Taylor and again, was in and out in no time at all. Bridger weighs 23 lbs! He was a good boy and Dr. Taylor seems to think he just has a sinus infection, maybe viral...we got some meds and advised that we wouldn't be coming back. We updated shot records and gave some hugs. I am actually sad to be leaving my OBGYN office and Bridger's Pediatrician. Both are so wonderful and have always been great! I can only hope that we can find someone as great in Corpus.

After our appts we headed to meet Daddy at the mall and grabbed some lunch. Ryan headed back down to Corpus for his very first day of work tomorrow! Bridger and I stayed for a bit and did some shopping. Ryan actually has to dress up for work, something he has never had to do before. I went shopping to get him some nice Polos and jeans. I even got Bridger a beautiful seafoam green Polo. After 4.5 hours of no nap, Bridger was overly due for a nap!!

We are still looking for houses and Ryan is going to talk to a real estate company tomorrow about a house across the street from my mom. I just hope we can find something this week before he heads back home to Beaumont Friday night.

I am still job searching online and found a few jobs I could apply to. I really wish I could just be down there and walk into these jobs and hand them my resume. Maybe it  makes me feel like I'm accomplishing more. I will stay on it and hopefully I won't be out of work too long in between jobs!

So we will be home again tomorrow and pray Bridger is feeling better and has no more issues with diarrhea. I have started packing a little bit and will jump back into it tomorrow. Only a couple more days till Daddy is home with us again! I hope he has a wonderful first day and I know that he will do fabulous!!!

New Adventure!

Recently Ryan was contacted by his best friend about a job opportunity in Corpus Christi. We were never seeking another job or trying to move anywhere. After Ryan heard about the job, he was very interested! We waited about 2 weeks before we heard anything and weren't counting on getting the job, but we finally got the call last Thursday, he got the job!

Congrats to my hubby on his new job! He will be a superintendent for a pipeline company.  He was suppose to start tomorrow but it got pushed back to Wednesday. For now, until we find a house, he will just commute back and forth. Bridger and I will stay here and Ryan will come home on the weekends. I just gave my 2 week notice today, but I may be longer. Depending on the whole house situation. I can't wait to get down there and find a new job and get settled.

We are excited for this new adventure and being back home with our friends and family, and happy for Bridger to be closer to his Grandma and Memaw! We were both ready for something new, we just didn't know what. This is a great opportunity for us and we are going into it very positive and excited for the new path we will taking.

We will miss things about Beaumont, but I guess we can always come back for visits. I know personally I will miss the "colder" weather, it does get a lot colder here than in Corpus. I will miss all of my lunch hour shopping trips, the wonderful traffic, all of our sweet friends and Pappadeauxs! ha!

It will be weird being back in our "hometown" but ready or not, we are set to go!!! Praying to find a house soon!!

Corpus weekend!

We went to Corpus this past weekend to look for houses. It didn't go as good as we were planning. Houses are much more down there. We were expecting a raise in rent, but not this much. All of the nice houses that are in our budget seem to get rented within a day!! It is crazy! We looked everywhere we could and drove around for 2 days just looking for those little red rental signs. It was overwhelming and I am so happy that Bridger was such a good boy for the 2 days of driving around town.

We met Ryan's cousins at Kikos and had lunch and Bridger was so tired, he was wanting to run and be wild. He was cranky and wouldn't sit still. Luckily my mom came by and got him to take him back to the house for a well needed nap! Thanks mom! We enjoyed our lunch with his cousins.

We also got in some time with our niece's and nephew Saturday night. We stayed home and babysat while the adults went out to have a little fun. We didn't do anything too exciting, baked brownies and ate ice cream for dinner! Isn't that what we are for? They passed out pretty early and were such angels!

The one house we found didn't work out so we are out there house searching again and hoping that we can find something so Bridger and I can meet back up with Daddy and be a family again!!

Bridger still loving feeding himself!

Trying to get some good pictures with my boy!!

Ice cream and movie time!

Mixing Brownies

Bridger loves his cousin Colton!!! He pushed him around the house for a good 10-15 minutes! So sweet!

Here was Bridger and his daddy the day Ryan got back from his fishing tournament. Bridger was so excited to see his daddy!! What a sweet time.

Bridgers sweet faces!!!

Poco Bueno 2011

The Annual Poco Bueno fishing tournament rolled around again and Ryan left for 5 days! He left slightly earlier this year as he needed to run down to Corpus to take care of some things, and then turn and head to Port O'Connor for the tourney.

This year the Brocks have a new boat! It is so beautiful and perfect! They traded in the good ole' Fountain and in turn got a larger Venture. The previous weekend they fished the Deep Sea Roundup in Port Aransas and did excellent, they took 1st place in Sailfish division. There were high hopes for Poco this year!

Unfortunately they had some slight issues. A couple of the boys ran the boat up to POC and noticed a knocking in the motor. Ryan headed up to POC immediately to meet them and take a look at what was going on. Good thing my hubby is such a great marine mechanic! They were fortunate enough to get another lower unit sent up and Ryan spent most of Thursday putting the new unit on and fixing everything up for them to be able to leave Thursday night.

Saturday night, 7:30ish I finally got a call from the hubs! I knew they didn't do too hot because he called so late, had they had a fish.....they would've been in much earlier! Its OK, they did what they could and had a great time out there together. Only 1 boat weighed in a blue marlin at the last minute. I guess it wasn't a good year for many.

I'm sure they had a great time and made many more amazing memories, even with the motor issues.

The new Marlin Majic

Here is the Marlin Majic crew last year at Poco Bueno (2010). This fish would've won, but with all the controversy going on, they left without a win. Nice fish.

Leading the board....for awhile at least

Teething

My poor boy is going on probably over 4 weeks of teething now. He currently has 6 teeth, 2 on bottom and 4 up top. I'm not sure if it has to do with what type of "teeth" are coming thru, because with the other teeth that are currently in, it was never this bad. He has been slobbering non stop, runny nose that is always a constant, and now super bad diaper rash!!! This morning he even had a couple of blisters. We are keeping his little booty medicated and dry. I am trying to keep him updated with Tylenol so he doesn't develop a fever.

I can't wait for these teeth to come in and give him some relief. He is also biting other kids and biting me! And it hurts! I am not quite sure how to nip that one, I don't think he is doing it out of spite, but it also isn't ok to do....we are working on it.

Praying for some teeth soon!!!

Mommy and Bridger

While daddy was away at his fishing tournament it was just mommy and Bridger time. We had a wonderful 5 days alone and played tons and had lots of snuggles. He is getting to be such a big boy and I'm loving it. He suddenly turned on the talking and doesn't ever stop. It is adorable....I know he is holding some sort of conversation with me, just wish I knew what he was saying. He is now climbing everything he can and getting on top of things and swinging from my table...

Saturday after his long nap I decided to take him to get his hair cut again. It was SO overdue! It had been 6 weeks and his hair was crazy and I wasn't even able to do anything with it again. I was so nervous and that is probably why I waited so long to go, the first time was so bad I was scared how this time would go over. I didn't even put him in the cute cars this time, and just jumped right into and put him on my lap. This time wasn't any better. Luckily after she was finished he stopped crying, and it didn't drag on until we left the haircut place. Now - he is newly cut and looking super cute!! And such a little man!

After his hair cut we went to the mall and walked around and just hung out together. He was such a good boy and behaved the entire time!! I really enjoy my time with my sweet love and he the light of my life!!

He is such a boy!! Every night I get on the floor to play with him and Bridger LOVES this. He loves to tackle me and pull my hair out, and he can pull hard! He is a rough house baby boy and nothing is soft and gentle with him. We took lots of videos and laughed endlessly. And after he went to bed I started reading my new book, The Happiest Toddler on the Block. I haven't got to far into it, but I'm excited to read it and learn some good info!

Hello Clifford

I went to Kohl's yesterday to browse around at some things since our boss was so kind and let us off work at 3:30. I didn't find too much but while I was checking out they had some cute stuffed animals up front, Clifford and his friends, along with Clifford books.
100% of the net profit from the sale of these items will support kids' health and education initiatives in communities nationwide. So,  I got Bridger Clifford. I think he likes his new friend! =)

Favorite summer treat

Ever since I was Pregnant with Bridger, I have been obsessed with eating watermelon! I would eat it everyday and once I ran out, I HAD to go buy another. Since then it has just stuck. This summer is no different. I LOVE LOVE watermelon. I wish I had a fool proof way to buy the good ripes ones because I don't always get a good one. This summer I gave Bridger a taste and he LOVED it. Now he is just as obsessed as his mommy! He even knows the container I keep it in and cries once he sees it because he wants some! This boy is already a good eater but he can really down some watermelon. I'm so happy he likes food like his Mama!

Summer Jacket

I was cleaning Bridgers closet out last night trying to put things away that he has out grown, and I ran into this adorable jacket I had completely forgot I bought!! Its from the GAP and I got an amazing deal on it.I'm sad because it doesn't look like it will fit him come this winter, because it fits perfect right now! He sported it around the house for a bit last night, he didn't want to take it off! We will keep it and try again when the cold weather arrives, just to be sure if it fits or not! =)

Night Night

I love night time routine at our house. Bridger knows as soon as bath time is over, it is time for bottle and then bed. Just recently he has developed a second round of energy after his bottle. He has always slept 12 hours a night, but I'm wondering if I need to start putting him down slightly later? 7pm does seem kind of early, but he really sleeps the entire time, 7-7. I guess we will wait and see what this spur of energy is meaning.

So now when the bottle is finished, or close to finished, he pops up and thinks its play time!

Here is the love bug right after a snuggle with Mama.

This particular night, bottle not finished, but he sure was going to hang on to it!

There we go!

Aww, I love when he does this snuggle to his blankets....

He is clearly in the playing mood, and done with the bottle.

Aw, Night Night Bridger.

Owies

My sweet little one is always getting accident reports written up at daycare. Poor baby just can't help it and is always getting hurt in one way or another. Today it was a scratch across his forehead. Nothing too major.

After the grocery store tonight we ate, and it was bath time! Bridger never likes to sit down in the tub and likes to move around everywhere. He does this every bath so its nothing new. Well today somehow he managed to slip, I always hold him to make sure he doesn't .....but accidents happen and he slipped and hit himself near his eye. =( I felt so bad! Poor baby screamed and screamed and I'm watching right under his eye swell and he is screaming his little head off! During his nighttime bottle we put some ice on it.

You can see his scratch on forehead and bump near eye. =(

THAN.....I let him play a little more before bed and he managed to fall and hit his forehead on the ottoman of his toys! Bedtime came quickly!

My sweet love had a rough day today with owies and I hope when he wakes up, nothing is bruised or lingering...... =(

Love this little boy!!

Refusing to look at Mama

Serious playing going on here.....

Of course I'll read to you love! Even if its a Christmas book! =)
