March 29, 2011

It feels like we had a lot going on today. I had to go into work late because we had a follow up for Bridgers tubes that got put in back on the 15th. I was nervous about taking him all by myself because it was during his nap time and I just knew he would be crazy. I got smart, and loaded up the car and drove around looking at houses for an hour before his appt. An hour nap is better than no nap! And it worked! he was wonderful!

So Bridgers ears are both infected and his nose too! I was very bummed that we couldn't get custom plus made today because the over the counter ones are so hard to get into his ears. We have to wait for the infection to clear up to make the plugs. Our next appt is next week, praying it gets cleared up!

After work today I decided to get a couple 10 month pictures of my sweet boy. While we were in Walgreens waiting for his medicines, he kept starring at the balloons and would squeal, so I gave him one. Then...I couldn't take it away. He loved it!! So cute how he gets excited and squeals as he is playing with the balloon!

Also, since it is Ryan and I's anniversary we decided to go to dinner at Pappadeauxs. Bridger didn't get a late afternoon nap, so he wasn't very good, but we made it thru. We had some very yummy food and a good time. Ryan also surprised me with a purse! Just in time for our trip next month - it is the perfect summer purse. We usually don't buy each other gifts, so it was a great surprise!!! I told him he can go do some stuff to his truck that he wants to do. =) This is what it looks like, but the black is actually a light brown! I love it!

10 months old!

Bridger is now 10 months old! It is exciting but also makes me sad. I can't believe that my little baby is only 2 months away from being a 1 year old. People aren't kidding when they say enjoy it because it goes so fast. I love watching him grow and learn, and it just makes me sad because I know he will never be that tiny 6 lb baby again. I know, I know....we all go thru it. But he is my first so its fresh to me. =)

My Sweet Bridger Bear,

Happy 10 month birthday! You are growing so fast and Daddy and I are enjoying every minute! And you are growing 1 top tooth!! yay!! You are an extremely fast crawler, you will even crawl over anything that is in your way! You are getting fast at walking along things. You have a push walker now and you are so good with it. You are really quick with great balance. You are starting to let go of things and can stand for a second! Mommy was so excited when you did this today for 10 seconds or so! You can even walk only holding one of my hands. I have no idea when you will start walking on your own, but maybe by your first birthday!!
Not happy with Mama!

I also love how you are always on your knees now! You sit on your knees and bounce up and down...I think that is you dancing! You even push your push walker on your knees, its cute! We put you in your other walker outside and you love to go backwards! you are just now learning to go forward.....but backwards, you are a pro!

I love these little hands!!!

You are so much fun to play with!Your favorite thing is when we lay on the floor with you! You get excited and crawl all over us, "hit" us, sit with us, bring toys to us. You love to play with all your toys that make noise, and balls!! You love to be held upside down and often giggle while doing it. Mommy and you dance to your TV shows music and you really like that! You are finally starting to watch more TV. I put you in your highchair and give you your cheddar crunchies (your favorite and you always have one in each hand), water in a sippy cup and put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You bounce up and down in your highchair to the music.

You have now got to the point where you do not like baby food. All I can manage to give you is baby yogurt. Daycare gives you regular food just mashed up and you love that! We are starting more of that at home now! You really love to eat and want the real stuff! I don't blame you.
Your newest thing that you have started is clucking when you eat! It is so loud but so funny! Anytime we give you regular food and not your snacks....you have started to "smack". Daddy and I find it extremely cute, others may not while we are out to eat....but we think you are super cute!!

Since you have got your tubes, you have been talking so much more! We have lots of conversations and mommy tries to teach you new words. The only one you even try to copy is "Uh-Oh". But we practice every day! You won't hold still when changing your diaper or dressing you anymore, its a chore. You love doors and cabinets...more baby proofing is in the works. You love to stand at the windows and look out, but you love to be outdoors even more! And rarely cry while we are outside. You do not like the grass.

You still fight your naps. You are so adorable when you get tired! If there is a soft blanket or your lovie out, you will stop and bury your face in then try to go back to playing. You even will bury your face in mommy! I love it! When I give you your lovie at night, you squeal the cutest squeal! It really makes you happy! You will chew on your lovie while you are calming down, or on the tag. You sometimes still put your arms up to your face when you are really tired, and I really love that....reminds me of you being a newborn! During our night time bottle, you snuggle with me(the only time) and rub my shirt, hair or face. I absolutely love it! You still sleep 12 hours a night and we are so proud of you and very thankful for you spoiling us!

I really love when I can just look at you, and you shoot me the cutest smile! Or the way you flirt with women when we are out and about. It is the seriously the cutest thing ever! Or how you squeal and move all crazy when you see Cheyenne and Remington and try to throw yourself on them. You don't belly laugh that often, but we try to get you to! Those 20 seconds of belly laughing is the best sound ever!

You are seriously the most amazing gift ever! Mommy and Daddy love you so much and you make our world go round. You bring so much joy to our lives. We are so thankful to be blessed with you. You are very special to us and we promise to show you everyday!! Love you sweet boy!

Happy Anniversary sweet Hubby!!

Today is also Ryan and I's 3 year anniversary!! It feels like it should be longer, but Ryan and I have been together for over 7 1/2 years, so it seems so weird saying we have only been married for 3. =) They have been our most wonderful and successful 3 years together though! We were blessed shortly after celebrating 2nd year of marriage with the most amazing little boy ever! He is our greatest accomplishment yet!

We have been through so many different times in our many years together, and we always can rely on each other and support each other in what we do. We have changed so much, independently and together. We continue to learn with each day, month, year that passes. We are each others best friends and I love that!! We can share anything with each other and be each others rock.

I feel so blessed and I'm so happy to have such an amazing husband. He tries so hard to always give me what I want. We aren't the lovey dovey all over each other all the time couple, but it works for us. We don't give each other extravagant gifts, and rarely surprise each other, but that is because we get so excited and have to tell one another as soon as we can!! We can talk on the phone for over 30 mins even though we will be seeing each other shortly. We laugh at our silliness, Ryan teases me often and I try to tease back and keep up! Doesn't always work! =)

Ryan is laid back, takes things with a grain of salt and has a short temper but he has a lot of patience with Bridger and I and he doesn't fret the small stuff. He is unorganized and has a short memory! I am the opposite...I like plans, organization and it takes a lot to make me mad. Things that are said to me, I analyze them more than I should. I am always thinking what next needs to be done, what next is on our schedule. I guess that is why we work so well together - we balance each other out and can calm one another down.

I think that he is so talented and can accomplish anything he puts his mind to! I remember one of our dates in the beginning, he was taking me out fishing and the motor wouldn't start. I was bummed. But there was Ryan, in the back of the boat messing with the motor, jiggling things and after a short while, WALA! The motor started. I remember how I felt at that moment.....and it was pure amazement of how talented and smart he was!! If Ryan can get his hands on something, he can definitely fix it! I always feel safe in a boat with him, even though he has a lot of "adventures"....he will always find a solution!! I'm so proud of him!

We don't have any big plans today, probably dinner at Pappadeauxs- but for our 3 year anniversary we will be jet setting off to Antigua at the end of April! We are staying at the Sandals Resort and we are getting more excited as each day passes! It will be our first time away together since we've had Bridger, and it gives me anxiety, but we've got to do it sometime! We are on official countdown!

Another weekend in Corpus

We spent another weekend in Corpus so Ryan could work on a pool that he was fiber glassing for a friends boss. He spent the entire weekend working, while Bridger and I spent lots of time with Grandma and shopping!

We got Bridger some fun toys, cute summer shortalls, and some robeez for when he starts walking!! We spent some time outside enjoying the beautiful weather that came our way. Although it was super windy, we enjoyed the sunshine!

Bridger did so well this weekend!! My mom even commented on how much more he is talking! He sat outside for at least an hour and just hung out, didn't go wild, or fuss and cry. He was perfect! he truly loves being outside! I was so impressed by my sweet baby boy!
I always take so many pictures to try and get just the "perfect" one, and I always end up with so many that I love!! I can't help but share with all of our friends and family far away! Bridger is honestly so amazing and I love sharing!!

After sitting in the yard for awhile playing, we even took a walk in the stroller, which he LOVED! I wanted to keep walking, but the sun was so bright and warm, I was nervous about him getting sunburned!!

Bridger was so funny and would crab crawl in the grass! He did not like the grass much! He would even move his hands like it was the most disgusting thing ever!

We went to church again with Grandma Sunday morning! This week was part three of installing confidence! It was another great service. I am sad that I do not live in Corpus and am not able to attend this church every weekend. I really wanted Ryan to join us, but he was so busy working, he just couldn't get away. Bridger did slightly better in the nursery this week. I can't wait to go back for Easter! Ryan is excited to go with us as well!

Playing a little bit before church!

Overall we had a great weekend, just playing and hanging out with Grandma! Our ride home was interesting since baby boy decided he only wanted to sleep for an hour!I jumped in the back and we played for the rest of the ride home! We told each other story's and Bridger learned new things! He found my eyelashes and that it was so funny to pull them! I really enjoyed my 4 hour drive with my sweet Bridger!!

Tubes are in!

This morning was our appointment for our sweet Bridgers tubes! I wasn't nervous or scared because after my discussion with the doctor last week, he made me feel 100% comfortable. It was a quick 3 minute procedure for them, had it been longer...I'm sure it would've been harder for me. The most challenging part of it was the waiting beforehand. We arrived at 6am and he didn't go back till 730. He was hungry, tired, and bored. We finally just had to let him scream it out. He wasn't having any of it. Finally - they took him back, and not long after we went to the waiting room, Ryan got a drink and they called us back to talk to Dr Jordan.

Dr Jordan told us that Bridger very much needed the tubes. That his ears are so bad! Tons of build up, and that we will experience bleeding for a few days because of it. We asked a few questions and I was able to go back to see Bridger. (one parent at a time) Now comes the saddest/hardest part - before I even turned the corner to recovery I could hear him screaming his lungs out!! He had 5 people around his bed trying to calm him down and get him to drink his bottle....as soon as he saw me, he had the look of relief! I scooped him up and snuggled him, loved him, and got him to drink some of his bottle. He cried the rest of the time and the time in car on the way home, but the poor baby did just come out of surgery....he finally fell alseep when we got to our street.

I took advantage of the time while Bridger napped and took me a nap since we had been up since 5am! Bridger is now up and doing wonderfully! He is playing and enjoying himself. We can actually call his name and he will look at us, tell him no and he will acknowledge us, I am SO happy that my baby can finally hear! I hope it will only get better from here on out. Now when I try to teach him Mama and Ball - he will know what I'm saying and not ignore me. =)

Playing so well after surgery

Very good at walking with this!

Evidence of puffs....one of his favorite snacks! Sweet boy!

Happy boy!
